The only similar scenario I can think of is Tomco when they sat on bad news and announced it 3 days after a placing, the broker cancelled the placing.
Obviously a director just sold in a closed period, I’m expecting a resignation RNS by said director tomorrow, the company will look to distance itself, if however, the broker was to cancel the placing, expect the mother of all short squeezes here, as most were forward sold imho.
That was the case with Tomco.

I seem to remember reading on a BB that shell never tested the well, as a piece of equipment was lost downhole which prevented testing, think the article was in a shell newsletter, which also gave funds expended, from memory Shell spent 2 months trying to rectify the situation, so something looked good.
