My dentist doesn't display its (thoroughly extortionate) prices anywhere, nor the fact that its products can be bought cheaper elsewhere. Will the CMA be investigating them too?
In fact, just the the other week I went in for a follow up on some (ultra expensive) treatment and the nice dentist asked if I'd like a quick check up while I'm there. Sure I thought, why not. 5 minutes later, check is done, I've left the building and i get a call from the receptionist. "You owe us £45 for the check up". Unbelievable.
"buying now is a bit of a bet on the success of the company"
no **** sherlock lol
Porsche you wally 80% of their revenue comes from the Americas
I know you like to blindly fire your scattergun across all UK shares, but this is one case where it doesn't work
In fact, if the UK is so fooked, the £ will depreciate against the $, making the USD revenues converted into GBP even more attractive. Best directing your aim elsewhere, may I suggest you do a little homework next time first lol
Sorry 2025 Target EPS 35p
2025 Target PE 35p
Use a conservative PER of 12 and that gives a target SP of 420p.
Not even 25% of the way there yet. Be brave and hold for bigger rewards.
I too believe that holidays will be booming and OTB should get its fair slide of that.
One thing that troubles me is the short from Worldquant Llc that has appeared over 0.5%. Don't like holding shorted stocks. Any views on that?
D220, unfortunately my opinion has changed somewhat since the initial investment, for the following reasons:
1. They have massively underperformed compared to GRID, which is annoying to say the least
2. The reason they’ve underperformed appears to be the fact they have far less capacity actually online
3. Rising interest rates can’t be helping
4. The fact the price of electricity went through the roof but we didn’t really see any benefit from that
So I’m now sitting here annoyed I’ve lost capital, and not really optimistic about making it back either. It’s only really stubbornness and reluctance to crystallise a loss that’s stopping me from selling, but I certainly won’t be buying any more.
Incorrect dogger, this doesn’t have the highest level CV. Value Alert for nothing!
well that was a nice bit of excitement to end the day.
i'm not sure that article in itself merits such a spike. most of us holders here believe the company is substantially undervalued so its not really "news" in that sense. nor does it mean 888 will actually do anything off the back of it.
nevertheless, i fully expect this to rise substantially over the next 12 months. this share has my highest possible value alert attached to it. the 80 where we are now is only back to where we were a month ago. there's a **** load more upside to come here.
What is going on here. I just had to check if this had gone ex-div today, sadly it hasn't.
I always thought this was a solid share to have in my pf. "Safe" and "Dependable", steady dividends and slowly rising capital appreciation.
Not any more. This is starting to make me feel a little sea-sick.
Well on the bright side I guess it does beat the January update when they said they were raising £1.55m to keep the proverbial frying machines running!
Lol it stinks of desperation to me.
It’s like McDonald's announcing they’ve secured a supply of potatoes so they’ll be able to serve fries with your Big Macs - BAU can therefore continue - hurrah!
“By the way in case TracyLied is concerned about me , I have a breakeven price of just under 30p following some recent buys..which is nothing to be proud of ,I admit, but we are not dead yet.
If you examine the shareholders list , I don't see any one individual with a shareholding above 2m shares apart from myself, so TracyLied must be using multiple accounts to get to 2.5m..interesting.“
I can assure you dallo that Tracylied is not concerned about you. It appears from this message you’ve not figured out ( like most others have) that he or she is a compulsive liar, nothing they say can be taken at face value, and they certainly don’t have 2.5m shares. More likely a paid ramper than any kind of genuine investor I’m afraid to say.
I was going to blame myself for jinxing this with my opening post today but happy to let Steph take the flack instead..
Doesn't sound good damofarl, but thank you for digging that out.
On what basis are you recommending a "Buy" with that post. Do you think the sell off (which now sounds as if it was quite justified) has been overdone?
…but this seems to gaining a little bit of momentum!
I think most of us know to take a brokers recommendation with a pinch of salt. I didn’t realise until now just HOW bad they are though. Counting up the “Sell” recommendations (listed on this site) so far in 2023, there have been 30 so far. Count up the “Buy” recommendations and there have been over 900.
That’s a ratio of 30 : 1 !!!
Som that begs the question, if Brokers recommendations are worthless (because they always have a vested interest in making positive recommendations), does that mean their forecasts are equally worthless?
Auson I have a few questions if I may:
1. What do you make of the c3% stock on loan here. Is that above or below average compared to most other companies?
2. Do you consider the 0.43% rise since last month to be a bad thing, or not really very meaningful?
3. I understand you get your info from Euroclear. I looked into it and setting up an account with them doesn’t appear straightforward (need to have a broker etc) or cheap. Is it something a regular PI can do, how have you managed it?
Cheers in advance !
Ahoy fellow investors
I hereby today issue a Value Alert on KCT. The price looks to have bottomed and Forward PE for FY24 of 8 is way too cheap. Good 2x bagging opportunity once sentiment turns.
This is the biggest dog in my portfolio. Bought it as a recovery play, like much of the rest of the pf, but, unlike much of the rest of the pf, its just continued going down and down.
The GLG short bugs me, as does the continued downward price movement, but I refuse to sell as still believe the recovery will come, eventually. Not a happy camper though!
