The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Hey Robin,
Good work digging up the Abu Dhabi stuff. Does look pretty interesting indeed. Liked the vid with a big bald chap from and centre lol. This shows that even though NR and team have gone quiet they are still busy at it so no news looks to be good news.
Let's hope things are really cooking!
Wow! Wow! Wow! I haven't been on here for weeks and just read up that HartlepoolBob was a snake all along! To think there was a time I called him out (respectfully) for talking about total BS subjects and got an earful from his so-called mates. I'm not pretending to be smug here as I then genuinely thought I'd upset an older gent who was using thise forum as a way to converse with like minded people and pass the time. I thought quite deep about this at the time how we're all quick to judge etc. I explained my myself and that I meant no harm in what I said thinking he may actually be a nice frail old man just trying to stay active. Bob- if you're listening I consider a person who acts the way you have a total scumbag! I hope your imaginary allotment burns to the ground.
I can't understand how people go to sleep knowing they might have influenced a genuine nice bloke saving all his life to pi55 his money away. Why behave like a snake? You have no clue what things people are going through in their lives. I've never felt the need to behave like that. It's utterly low!
I'm still heavily invested here in my ISA and SIPP. My avg is around 29p! I feel very sorry for those who felt the need to sell and take the hit. I am basically holding my nerve. The over -70% losses I'm seeing are painful.
My feelings about all of this is JD handled this badly. Too much hyped info given out when he should have stayed quiet until it was bagged. However, the thing that keeps me here believing this still has the legs we thought it had is that not much has changed, it is still early days, deals have been done, we're involved with the best names in the games/Ad industry but above all this is the team. The team is the biggest thing for me. People of this quality would not be in it for a quick buck and ruin their names. So I believe we need to see out the 12months JD has talked about (which is not a lot to ask). JD handled it wrong but I don't believe he's a crook like is being made out.
Time will tell I guess. Good luck to those still in.
Bob- stick your turnips where the sun dont shine. Ram them in good!
Yep, great podcast! I think people start to get a bit nervous when things go quiet when in reality history shows it means they are busy getting things done. I'd imagine the hopper must be full to the brim and close to bursting with news. I think the next few months should prove to be interesting imho.
Loved the off topic chat about the Cybertruck and glad to hear NR's opinion was aligned with mine (tho it did take a few days for me to come round - Tesla is the best performing stock in my SIPP). Tempted to put an order down in the hope VRS shares will pay for it in 2-3yrs time :) GLA
As others have said I'm not worried about immediate Stadia launch titles as Stadia will be a niche product to begin with for those willing to try new technology. I compare it to the very first time Netflix was launched. It was a niche cutting edge new technology that people didn't jump to en mass or maybe believe it would work but now I don't know anyone who doesn't have it (and so disrupted several industries along the way).
FM and Grid games are currently played 100% across PC and all the consoles (phone?). That is tens of millions of devices already live and capable. I have no doubt Stadia will get up to speed sooner than people expect and add to the ad royalties with unlimited potential.
I'd have bought it myself if I didn't have such a huge backlog of PC games in my Steam library. No worries here, we're just waiting for news for the next leg up. I've been topping up on these dips (almost feels like stealing lol). GLALTH's
Seems to be passive at this stage the same as seeing ad banners whilst watching football or F1 on TV. I say "at this stage" because this being digital and customisable given the right game anything is possible with clicking on an ad and being taken to the advertisers page, alternate 3d environment or who knows something cool in virtual reality. Sky's the limit.
Truly excellent podcast. NR sounds very confident with how things are going. In line with my earlier thoughts and how I read the situation. I think folks let their expectations get out of control that BIGT was a sure thing before AGM. Fatherelmer explained that well.
Looks like big things should be dropping in the near future. Looking fwd to updates from the AGM once those who went get a chance to update us.
Very positive IMO and in keeping with the bigger/longer plan.

Everything reads good to me. NR has said multiple times they will only sign if it's right so obviously it wasn't ready to go just yet. I'd like to get BIGT done as much as the next man but not if we are giving too much away in the deal. Dilution for the right reasons doesn't worry me one bit (and BIGT would be the right reason).
I'm quite surprised by the negative tone on here. There is so much going on in the background. Sounds like they are nailing testing/trials across the board. Previous collabs swimming along. The textiles and concrete sound great. Aecom mentioned again! I think Aecom is going to be a juggernaut of a deal once they're fully tested and in all manner of building materials that haven't been thought of. BIGT deal will be announced sooner rather than later imo. Crazy price right now with what we have in the hopper. Easiest hold/buy this. GLALTH
Ooph, these drops are testing my patience (to buy that is). I'd say I'm fairly comfortable in the shares I've managed to get. My ISA is in the + and no more left to invest. My SIPP is well in the red as was weighted above 30 (25 somn was my lowest buy).
I have kept a bit of cash aside in my sipp and have told myself for once not get emotional, stick to yer guns and buy only if there is a drop come results day.
I barely managed to hold off 2 shots @22/23p but am starting to think I should have dipped in a bit. I'm long on bids so not worried about short term and believe there is a whole bunch of buyers waiting to pounce who thought this ship had sailed beyond 30p. This will bounce big IMO sooner or later.
So difficult to sit on your hands with this one as all I keep seeing is more opportunity to buy more cheap! If there's a third drop before results I may have to go against the plan.
Exciting run up to month end that's for sure (sorry just a bit of thinking out loud).
Mr Bottom, I'm a little tipsy and just read your post. Well, I just wanted to say I almost PMSL. :D Cheers!
mart-good post!
Hi Max,
Sorry, as Weave mentioned was a typo. I know someone with the initials PW so brain went into auto-pilot.
Just as DGD999 said, I fully understood the situation to be nothing secretly kept by PA to the company. I can't remember where but i'm pretty sure this was all confirmed by NR that the company was well aware of the case. Thought it honourable that they took him on knowing this but I am glad they decided to severe ties for the time being.
I'd say it's past news now with it relating to the company. The outcome of the case cannot affect us now. Lesson learnt on future hiring. I'm just curious as I'd love for PA to win either way.
Just to follow up on this in case some newbies are reading and find this worrying. Patrick is no longer working for VRS. It was decided best he step away and deal with his case. His position has been filled so there is zero impact or repercussions on the company.
Like Max and other investors who have followed the mini saga during PW's time with us I too am interested in any outcome just because I do believe in PW being a top notch guy. I follow him on the twitter, he has been a little more vocal the last few weeks so i'm sure we'll find out sooner or later. He looks to be good guy with a great little family , providing he is clear of any wrong doing I wish him good luck.
All the best.
JD "yes, we're on Aim at the moment ... that's wonderful ... we have very big ambitions"
I really liked that line about 17mins in :)
Great podcast. The worldwide (esp USA) growth aspects were very exciting and feels like they're gearing up for a huge upgrade to bigger markets.
Eyes on the prize!

As others have said looking forward to an update from JD (not in a rush for this tbh) but am certainly ready to pounce on any weakness.
Getting Epic (Unreal) and Tradedesk have secured this for me now and have full confidence the in the near/mid/long this will grow and grow massive!
Getting a possible chance to buy lower would be a gift so have kept a little sack of cash aside just in case (also getting in before a possible EA sign up would be a bonus).
Not sold or selling a penny. I think we are still well under the radar at the moment which is lucky for us.
Holy moly! Very nice.
Just got home, scanning the Twitter... raised eyebrows. .. what's this? :O
Rock solid foundations are being built here folks. All-star dream team are in. The news flow JD has talked about is all coming true. Where this will be in Q4 is anyones guess, but like the Yazz the singer from the 80's used to sing "The only way is up" ... (sorry for the cheese).
On a serious note. I don't see how any of the last 3/4 bits of news being priced in whatsoever. They were wildly hoped for but not expected. Market can do what it likes, if it doesn't get it now it soon will. For me this is longterm so any weakness now I'm topping up.!
More ducks lining up :)
Brexit doesn't concern me one bit as this has got to be one of the most brexit proof stocks you can buy. 100% electronic and internet based. I think this applies to macro economics too.
As many have said this is not the company I'd want to take risks trading for small gain. Those seeing the big picture will receive the biggest prize IMHO. Long & strong!
I have a funny feeling Fri could well be the day we push through 34. Nothing like knowing you've picked a winning stock. Makes for comfortable weekends :)
Just catching up on the day.
thechancers - felt a bit sad that you thought I was having a rant @ HpBob as you're one of my favourite posters. i was trying to be respectful because like I said I like HartlepoolBob, yourself, Thebig128296 and many others. It would be a loss to this BB if you guys stopped posting!
Your reply at the time that senior guys may not get a chance to have a regular chinwag did make me feel a bit sad and I realise the importance of contact with like-minded people (especially as we age).
However, I do stand by what I said and this is a very specific forum and when any of us digress too much off subject it makes for harder reading. We're all invested here. We all want new people getting on board. I'd rather newbies see good info/links etc rather than potatoes. Don't get me wrong I like a bit of banter to pass the quiet "no news" days, we are human after all. Also, potato talk won't stop de-rampers turning up. What we certainly don't need is de-rampers AND potatoes :)
As others have suggested, I'd also highly recommend other ares of LSE or the thousands of other forums on the web where you can chat with like-minded folks about growing veg, lunch or whatever your heart desires . I have forums for: fixing my car, computers, tech news, Tesla, home audio, vinyl, music etc (great communities on all). How about create a 'Bids Any Chat Group'. You could announce it here so we can join in. I'd love to talk to all you guys about your thoughts on Tesla but I don't out of forum etiquette and as an investor i'd be shooting myself in the foot by clouding this board which wouldn't be fair to those who couldn't care less.
Anyway, I tried not to reply (especially this much) but just wanted to reiterate I like all you guys, I didn't mean any offence and certainly don't want you to stop posting. Just more Pubguard less potatoes please :)
I'll leave this matter here. I don't want to be known as some kind of party pooper. Mixed up day for Bids but i'm thinking ahead to Q4 so non of this current -/+ 3p matters IMHO. Long and strong is the way to look at this. GLA!
I like you hbob and I know you can say what you want but if we all start talking about what we're eating all the informative posts will disappear into the abyss.
It's clear the market hasn't reacted appropriately which I put down to lack of knowledge on the gaming industry. I tend to post less often but provide what I can to help us when I do.
Some decent links and info are being pushed down as we're now talking about tea!
Just voicing my opinion. Not arguing. I don't want a back and forth as that just adds to the problem I'm talking about. All the best.
Awesome Robski for adding that link (I realised after posting I should've done that).
If Unreal Engine was a movie studio they would be Industrial Light & Magic (Lucasfilm). That is how big the name is in the gaming world. If you don't know how major ILM is then wikipedia their filmography.
Looking forward to seeing where this and other partnerships lead. Great timing too with Gamescon. This news will get a lot of industry/player heads talking.
