The portfolio still contains a number of legacy biotech investments and I can these being sold off gradually as the main strategy now is to invest in alternatives to traditionally farmed food.
Cellular agriculture is just emerging and will be a huge growth sector.
This is not the same as Beyond Meat, Impossible etc as they are simply using soya and other plant based ingredients to make burgers etc. The next level is sustainably and economically producing meat, fish, shellfish, dairy, leather from cells.

Gone a bit quiet on here, some updates in the coming weeks would be welcome.
I think there’s a good chance of the Glenover Mining Licence decision.
After all it was submitted on 15 November 2017, so more than 2 years ago now!
The water use licence was the final bit of the jigsaw and that’s been ongoing for at least a year.
Of course we still don’t know the likelihood of a favourable decision but the length of time this application has taken seems to suggest that the chances of good news is high.
My thinking is that a rejection would have been issued much more swiftly.

There will probably be ups and downs, but the trend is definitely going up.
Reflection of asset value only just beginning.

Liquidity looks tight, MM’s don’t have many shares and they want some. I can see this going higher.
As the story unfolds it’s quite likely to see Australian, Asian and North American investors taking a bite of this too.

BTC has had a good recovery from sub 7000 and rally looks strong with good volume. As always, volatility is expected, but I think the trend will continue. BTC halving in May 2020 will now be in focus and this will draw in more and more speculators.

Gresham House reducing their holding has knocked the shareprice and it’s starting to look attractive but the real question is where are the contract wins? The acquisition happened in October and not much has happened since then.
The company reduced their debt burden from £5m to £3.5m as part of the merger, so this is still a significant weight around the business at an interest rate of 12% per annum (£420,000 per year)

Reading today’s response from the Environment Agency, VLS still has work to do before the discharge issue is given the all clear and it will probably weigh until we get this decision.
While it’s good news that the objection to the Planning Permission has been removed, the Environmental Permit and Marine Licence is still very much dependant on acceptable mitigation of the discharge into the Humber.

Might not need all the US sites, in early Dec they had 236 out of a target 245 patients enrolled, so could well be full now

Interesting documentary and this topic will continue to grow very fast.
There’s a mainstream film/documentary coming out this year in cinemas called ‘Eating Our Way to Extinction’, I’ve see a preview of it and it’s a real eye opener

7.1.3 and 7.1.4 concerns me a bit, although they will need to convince the Department of Environment about proposed mitigation solutions.
The Department of Environment usually has 21 days to review the WFDCA before making it’s comments and review their original objection.
Can’t see a planning permission decision until this is resolved.

The platform has been developed over some time and has been used in successful trials with Australian and Japanese track and railway companies, they would not be doing potential client trials with an unfinished platform.

Lol, you’re beginning to sound like a recruitment consultant.
PhD AI leads? please....this is not a NASA project, it’s a simple use-case for automating railway corridor inspections that are currently done manually with very labour intensive and time consuming methods. The machine-learning algorithm is already in place, it doesn’t need to be complex.
UI/UX designers? This is not a customer focussed website or app with millions of users, not even thousands of users. This is a niche engineering system that will be used by asset inspection engineers as part of their existing roles. Nice to have UI/UX is hardly a priority here.
The platform obviously will need installation and handover/training for each new client, but I can’t see this taking more than a few days.

I could go on but no time I’m afraid, the market will decide, the market is always right eventually..

I did not ask this question as it’s my understanding that Ci is a fully developed product. It was officially launched in 2019 before MNO actually acquired Airsight. Here’s a reminder from the circular:

“Airsight was founded in 2012, offering engineering surveying services with digital recording devices. They developed specialised Light Detection and Ranging ("LiDAR") units which are particularly suited to recording data in transport corridors, such as rail and road networks. The need to analyse this data led to the development of a "deep machine learning" software platform ("Ci") launched in 2019”

Of course there will be a need to support and upgrade this platform and also to customise it for other potential applications but I can’t see the need for a huge amount of staff to complete this role and there are outsourcing options. If things move very quickly and scaleability is needed they will become a Takeover target by an Asset Management company or Engineering company.
Maestrano will enhance the Ci platform with expertise in third party application integration and presentation dashboards, needed to connect to transport asset management and Enterprise Resource Planning systems. Again there’s no need for a big team of technical staff to integrate this and it may well be already completed.

I’ve been in touch with the company and they are very excited about this year, they are in discussions with other clients and say that the pipeline is looking very healthy
