if the boe governer is that worried then why don;t he donate his own large salary? someone should explain to him that not all shareholders are multi millionares. pi's actually rely on a little bit of dividends to pay towards every day bills.
P.s what this needs is a takeover from a big player so they can really ramp up the big seller cussons items like carex and imperial leather and hand sanitizer products. Maybe a proctor or reckitt benkiser would love cussons as a bolt on to there products and might come sniffing after this Corona passes. a 1.5 billion takeout bid would be pocket money to them
Bit of a mixed bag, remember results were up to 29th Feb so Corona only really took off march. Lessons that need to be learned are always make sure you have enough I'm for any possible emergency because by the sound of it they are not fully geared up with raw material for the demand.Debt coming down which is always a positive and considering massive disruption of Corona profit guidance is roughly in line. The management are steady as you go boring but not exciting and risky which has got to be a good thing in the context of keeping debt low and having cash in bank.Divi will hopefully keep coming so prepared to keep collecting while waiting but short term I reckon share price will be very volatile and rekon the market might mark these down today. Long-term hold for me as the Divi is good
Only 1 problem that will probably flag up tomorrow is trading in Nigeria, that's always been a big headache for pzc and comes up in every results but hopefully enough good news on sales elsewhere will off set this. Just hope pzc was geared up enough for the explosion in need that Corona has bought to the hand soap and sanitizer demand. Even if results are not brilliant I will carry on holding as I would not want my money in a lot of the other risky sectors at the moment. Will surely be big demand for soap and sanitizer as a way forward dealing with Corona. Also a lot of work places and schools etc will need new hand washing and hand sanitizer guide lines after the worse of this has gone through
Banks were blamed for ppi now they will be made to bare a lot of the costs from Corona. The government expect banks to loan money to a lot of businesses that were failing even before we heard of Corona. Then when some of these businesses fail the shareholders will lose out, then we have all the people that have borrower like mad on credit cards will all that debt be written off??? Are banks now just seen as a cash cow to prop up a failing economy??
yes big thank you to all the postman out there you are doing a great job, i run a business and have been really busy posting lots of parcels lately and in my opinion there is no better courier service out there and thats down to the professional service of our postman/ladys.
i send a lot of parcels down post office every day and i can honestly say i have never seen the post office so busy. stacks and stacks of parcels everywhere. online sales must be going through the roof. next rmg sales figures will be interesting
Rainbow nothing makes sense anywhere in the world of shares, work this out 5months ago before covid you could have bought Gregg's shares for 18 pound, they were making record profit at the time. Today after all shops closed and no money being taken you still have to pay over 18 quid a share. Same with Ryanair. If there are any market makers out there please explain how you work that out????
Very impressive results. Fingers crossed we are looking at another rapid growth stock called SHIRE here if you remember they started from nothing and ended up being taken out by Japanese company. Just hope the big guns don't come sniffing to early before we have the chance to get some share price growth. Exciting company run by a very shrewd lady
Always the ordinary pi investor that takes the biggest hit mean while the bod's of these companies make millions in wages and they can't run a bath. World is diseased in debt and will be even more do after this, just keep the money printing machines going and that's the answer to all the problems according to those in charge
Absolute joke, and as previous poster put how many of these companies will use this Corona as a way of reducing future dividends, so by anyone who bought in at 4 quid a share might only get say a 3% yield in future instead of say the 7% they were getting. This dividend is from last year's earnings so this should not be effected by current events.
Belgrano I think that's wishful thinking. Unless every case in covid clears up in the same time frames around the world then surely letting flights come and go from other infected countries will surely just start the spreading of this again. Remember this supposed to have started from one person. I think this could drag on for many months and will be interesting to see how long airlines can sit idle
Mean while the benefits cheat who lives down the road from me who has never done a days works will thanks to our chancellor get a extra 1000 pound a year in universal credit because of this Corona. They are also driving one of those brand new motorability benefits cars worth 40 grand. Is it worth working in this world???
The banks were used as a cash cow for ppi and they will be hammered again for Corona, so the average pi who has been sensible and saved and invested a little has got to pay for the ones who have debted themselves up and now expect the banks just to write everything off. I left school with nothing and worked for everything and I have got by so why do the ones in debt always come out better off???
Disgusting especially the banks that had gone ex dividend and were due to pay soon. Why not offer a script dividend instead? I couldn't give a stuff about the rich all my concern is for the ordinary pi investor who rely on a few quid from dividends. The middle class are the ones impacted as usual
only place i could see a very few carex left today was superdrug, savers was completly stripped of any cussons or carex products as were other shops. considering we are trading in about the only thing people want in mass demand apart from food can anyone else work out why this share price is not above 2 quid??? once this corona hopefully fades hand washing will be a massive subject going forward and will surely help here with what we sell
stop scare mongering, the way i see it they keep saying 1100 cases tested postive what they dont say is how many of them 1100 are over it, plus if there are loads more who have it but are untested then the fact we are not having more deaths is a very good sign. need to keep the country running the best as possible, what will all the great people who fort in two world wars make of the over paniking wet lettuces who are trying to scare people to death. just keep your hands washed regular and keep a eye on all you older relatives and neighbours
