agree its not worth getting worked up over, todays drop likely a combination of oil going back up after yesterdays drop, a bit of profit taking plus you got to remember this is probably still classed as a growth share and anything growth related is getting smashed to bits latley regardless if the company is turning a revenue or not it seems the market is very nervous still. value always outs in the end and considering where we were two years ago to where we are now it surely must be a better place for airlines although the markets dont reflect that considering most airline shares were higher in price when planes were hardly flying i can't get my head around that bit
funny how the do gooders dont moan about mining companies massive profits and massive special dividends they hand out, being invested in oil shareholders have not been fortunate for special divi because you wouldn't hear the end of it if the big oilers handed them out. different when bp was hammered after deepwater and shareholders had a right tuff few years regarding share price and divi the do gooders dont think of that
well thats proved the doubters totally wrong, theres a few posters here with egg on their face. lesson to the know it alls never second guess the market
sienna i just watched that interview you flagged up, its powerful stuff predictions wise, i like the two guys how they come across. i always wondered after the next big recession/depression comes and goes and new things rise from the ashes if the new world order will be the likes of what GST are offering. fingers crossed it is we can all hope
mr jay thanks for that podcast link wow what a interview that was 30 minutes of very interesting stuff, if a tenth of what eric leire talks about came true here then we are in for big times here. if i can get some spare funds in the future i will be looking to add some more
my thinking to feza surely in hard times the discount retailers do a lot better. also wonder how many recession wetherspoons have sucessfully weathered over the years? they have only been going 40 years so must have been there seen it and done it. also think this negative sentiment on the cost of living is well over done. the difference is these days a lot of familys get big tax credit payments some many thousand a year and people are a lot more sheltered from hard times then they were years ago when familys had to make dowith a couple of quid family allowance to bring up thheir kids. everywhere i have been this bank holiday has been rammed and people are spending at will. there is still a lot of money about in the economy
thanks matchu thats reassuring what you say about the auditor
thanks for reply alter-ego i have been considering averaging down i held back hoping for a cease fire then i would have jumped in even if it was around a fiver as i would have considered that a derisked buy to bring my avergae down. i will make my mind up the next couple of days because like you say buying in at todays price would soon bring my average down
Guys my average here is £12 ouch best of luck all you in at these very low rates i hope you all do well. i wont bother selling as to far down but my main one concern is hoping that poly can find a new firm to do their books, do any posters on here think that won't be a problem? if we can stay listed and get accounts done then fingers crossed for the future.
Peltata thanks thats a good summary, no one can doubt the value wetherspoons offers on its alcoholic drinks, i was amazed when i looked at the price list last time i visited wetherspoons it was so much cheaper then any other pub and the place was full of seats and tables so perfect for a night out of cheaper drinking where you can buy a round and still get change unlike other pubs, also good for catching up with friends and no loud music banging in your ears. whats not to like?
grayling if you look at past recessions when times are hard the discount shops and business's always do better i can't see to many places when you can get a good feed and cheap drink like you can at wetherspoons. in bad times people will always still drink so not sure what your point is. all the different food and drink places around where i live are always busy and people dont seem to be cutting back
Grayling what are your thoughts on the freehold property that has not been revalued since 1999? surely got to be worth something on top of the current share price? also if pubs were to ever hit the wall then surely the size of spoons pubs they might be able to convert to multiple living accomadation? also i think all this talk about people being short of money and cutting back is a lot of talk, everywhere i have been lately the places have been packed out and people seem to be spending at a rate of knots. i visited spoons the other morning for a coffee and couldn't beleave how busy it was and people were drinking pints and eating and it was around 10am so they were doing a good trade
has anyone on here got any educated views regarding the value of the freehold property that i have read has not been revalued since 1999? how much would this add in terms of asset value if it was revalued? just wondered as it would surely put a new view on the current share price? also visited a wetherspoons the other morning and couldn't fault the value for money in the food and drink, surely if hard times hit people will be more likely to visit places like wetherspoons that offer this sort of good value for money
just reading up about what the so called future might look like which is a thing called "metaverse" a virtual world of living. interesting bit in the article about how blockchain technolgey would play a big roll in this. makes you realise that what we have here at qbt really might be a bi thing if it did all come together for us
bigjonny don't forget pfizer own a chunk so gsk wouldnt get full amount, sure i read one news report saying about 3 bids turned down so unilever are keen. sell this side off which i think would be the smart move to do, then who knows would astra be tempted to takeout gsk as sure that would be ok with the takeover authority as its british buying british
livestock your link you posted about uk relaxing its immigration laws, have you been watching the news lately and reading the papers we have just had another 1000 across the chanel today so can't see the point of your post regarding relaxing imigrattion laws?
