Invest in America? Whether you like the man or not he stood on a platform to put America first and revitalise the US core economy. Since the sixties America has been hollowed out under successive administrations by first the Japanese, then the Koreans and Taiwanese and over the last 20 years or so China. Their growth has arguably come at expense of US jobs and basic industries. In fact we have suffered a similar fate where a combination of suicidal union practices and cheap labour rates in the Far East our resources and heavy engineering industries were driven into the ground within a decade. Very very few if any. Thats why freedom of movement is such a joke. The EU have always made it difficult for non nationals to get the top jobs in big industry. While there maybe superficially nothing stops Brit applying to run say Siemens a national will invariably get preference on "linguistic or cultural" grounds. We on the other hand offer carriers to all regardless of colour or nationality. The best man/woman for the job. Our society in many respects is a lot more open than Europe will ever be. it is thus a bit rich to be preached on the benefits of "freedom" by the Brussels "elite".

we are at or close to the 10th anniversary of the banking crisis. Carney was warbling on on hw far we have come ,under his stewardship no doubt, about making the industry much safer than it was 10 years ago even in the event of a "hard Brexit".
