"As a reminder, in our January publication, we reset our target price to GBp250 with an expectation of a positive free cash flow in 2025. Since then, Aston Martin's stock price has significantly declined, and we struggle to see a scenario in which the company does not require new additional equity.

There was no change in CAPEX and D&A in late September; we forecast it to remain at £350 million and £400 million, respectively. Related to working capital requirements, we believe they will take a hit, including deposit unwind.

With no change in D&A but raising interest rates, our EBIT projections are set at minus £122 million. Additionally, we report a cash outflow in working capital of £150 million, with £30 million in additional net unwind of deposits.

Conclusion

Aston Martin is already priced in, even applying a positive 2026 financial trajectory with no execution issue. The new CEO took the right action to derisk 2024 guidance; however, there is no room for error with this visibility. We remain neutral.|

The huge debt interest payment was due in Q4, how much did that wipe out of the 290m they raised in November?

It’s funny eh, needing to raise cash for debt interest, then adding 100m to the exact same bond debt.

Imagine you could pay December’s mortgage, so you ask the bank to add 100m to the mortgage so you can pay the December instalment.

That’s how bad it is at Aston Martin.

Gross debt now stands at £1.5bn, for a company losing hundreds of millions every year.

Pay the interest of this debt along is now £150m per year. Which comes off in Q2 and Q4, so expect a dreadful Q4.

Gross debt at Q3 results was £1,373.4 MILLION, now add another £100m from the raise in November.

So 1.473 BILLION gross debt at 10.5% is around £147.3 MILLION in interest payments. PER YEAR.

Do you understand how this works? Even if AML make 147.3m this year, (no chance) it's wiped out completely by interest payments.

A factual post would say they have the potential to sell 999 over a few years, but the interest payments on the debt will take all the profit made.
