We all know the potential upside of poly so I won't bother with that.
Now on just simple numbers the Ukrainian population is 40mil plus, Russia 140 mil plus.
From the start everyone has acknowledged that Ukraine can't win and is merely fighting to improve their negotiating position.
Now Russia is deep within Ukrainian territory. And even though Ukraine is defending they are still losing grounds daily.
It is widely accepted that for an offensive the attacking sides needs a numerical advantage of 3-1.
1. Where will Ukraine get such numbers from?
2. Ukraine does not have air superiority?
3. They can't advance quickly like a blitz cos they need their air defence Missiles if not Russian jets will just bomb them to bits once they break cover.
So to summarise. This counter offensive is all noise and nothing more.
Think about it...is Ukraine implying that they are holding forces in reserve for a counter offensive while watching their comrades die everyday in Bakhmut???
Are they holding back brand new shiny tanks and weapons while receiving daily news of deaths in Bakhmut?
Obviously not. There are no soldiers left. The king has No clothes.
Finally think about it...Will the counter offensive use all of The Ukrainian reserves if it fails, the Russians can just drive into Kiev unopposed after all, all the soldiers are dead in the counter offensive.
And if Ukraine further splits their reserves and hold some back then the counter offensive will fail because their won't be enough soldiers. Especially if the Russians decide to bug them down Bakhmut style.
In other words Zelensky is betting the future and existence of Ukraine on a counter offensive that even his backers have no faith in.
My conclusion: Buy POLY. This war will be over soon. Probably before winter sets in.
