It's maybe the case that gulf gets the tax benefits of the $2Bn along with the $3.4Bn against production

It maybe the case that both Gult and TLW get THe tax benefits on a pro rata basis against what they've both paid when production starts

My point is, WE DONT KNOW

A lot of holders don't want a takeover at this price. Sorry but I think we'll be lucky to get an offer around 30-35p. (Which i would take as I'm sick of this share)

I hold a very similar amount, luckily I have a reasonable average, thought I was going to get back to break even at some point this week.

Could not agree with your post more, the lack of a plan and comms is a disgrace.

I'm also concerned about the new well being drilled, the team of analysists / geologist (or whatever they're called) seem to have a "spot the ball" approach, that looks good, X marks the spot.

Stanley, I'm not a trader, been holding for far too long (had to open another account on here as I was using an old work email which is no longer valid)

It might not be a reasonable valuation (which is very subjective anyway), I just think there's a lot of pished off holders, its always been jam tomorrow! Most will of had enough of days like today with no noise or updates from the company, which I have said many times I think is diabolical! even if they don't have a legal obligation to report they should keep the shareholders and market informed. As I said earlier today, if an offer comes in around that mark I think it will get approved.

This is just part of the game, at least we know our assets are of interest to others. They are getting the SP to where they want it before they come in with an offer, I'm estimating an offer between 29-32p

Yet again no news from the wonderful IR department.

If merger talks were ongoing it could explain the recent SP rise and why no CEO has been appointed.

If this is real news I was expecting a market reaction this morning, which up to now hasn't happened.

It does say in the article they have $500m to spend on African assets, now that the merger is supposedly off (that's if there was any substance behind the article) could they come in with an offer instead? Would explain a few things.

$500m equates to an SP up to c.35p which will leave most under water but given the c*!p we've been trough may well get passed.
