If I am decoding this correctly, my guess would be that this could also be an exatecan prodrug, like AVA6103, as that saves confusion when referring to several different candidate prodrugs with different combinations of capping group (AVA6---) or Affimer (AVA7---), linker (AVA-1--) and warhead (AVA--nn), particularly warhead. Or it could just be the third candidate they made in the AVA7100 program.

I may well have missed it but is this the first announcement by Avacta that AVA6000 will be trialled for breast cancer in the Phase 1b expansion study? If so, surely this important news should have been RNS'ed, not hidden away? - The new pipeline page wasn't even mentioned in today's RNS, let alone linked to. Why are they keeping this information low key? Who are they playing to? Bella, please help out here!

@PL, that ChatGPT find doesn't prove the case that exatecan is still under patent. Firstly, the two patents cited are applications, not granted patents - as can be seen by the A designation after the patent number - by Genequantum Healthcare (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. and ALX Oncology Inc. respectively and not Daiichi Pharmaceutical/Sankyo.

But secondly, and most importantly, the patents claim exatecan derivatives, not exatecan itself. Avacta's dox is dox and exa will be exa.

This isn't to say that exatecan conjugates, as a concept with various antibodies, etc, aren't still under patent, just that AI has some way to go before it can cut through all the technical jargon, obfuscation, marketting talk and lax use of terminology in order to apply true critical thinking.

I have found patents mentioning DX8951, which is exatecan's research code, going back to the mid 1990's, so around 30 years ago, e.g. https://patents.google.com/patent/US5637770A/en?q=(Dx8951)&oq=Dx8951&sort=old

This does suggest to me that, in contradiction to what Myles wrote, exatecan is out of patent by now.

It's more that the website recognises AVA7100 as being indexed as a searchable keyword.

Entering AVA6000 or AVA6103 produce actual results - pages on the website. Entering something like AVA1234 results in a "Sorry, no results were found" message because AVA1234 isn't in the website's index.

My guess is they are preparing pages about the pipeline compounds that will be made accessible from the pipeline page on 30 October.

I don't know how you discern that a page has been updated but a normal way to maintain a website is to have standard header, sub-header, navigation panel, etc, and footer modules that are pulled onto every page so that changes to these parts of the page only have to be made in one place - in the module.

If that method were to be used, then the footer on every page would be updated at the same time. But if the footer text is on every page as part of that page then a page would only be updated when the footer change is made on that page - a very inefficient and error-prone way to maintain a website.

Could one, just one, of the people who've up-ticked HurstBot's posts here explain why?
