RE: Mandating pension funds in UK markets17 Jun 2023 11:51
"We gave the EU 45 years to get it right". Re-frame required - use 'membership of the EU'.
We were leading members of the EU, with only 77 EU resolutions out of over 35, 000 being with UK disagreement. And most of those were over how much our membership fee should be. And, our membership fee was peanuts - less than 0.5% of our taxes. No one really was that bothered about the costs of EU membership before the divisve, troll-fed, debate of 2016, if you are honest. Yes, there were plenty of lies about 'Straight bananas' etc. that Johnson etc used to line his own pockets, further his own narcissistic career . But only a minority believed in that kind of thing. It's almost like the whole thing was an elaborate 'Divide and Conquer' operation, really.
