This seems to be a restatement or extension of the investigation into PWC,'s role as auditor of the misstated accounts. I can see nothing new here. Am I missing something?

No date announced yet for the AGM. I guess that will be the next trigger point for the SP now.

A steady announcement about a steady company well placed for steady organic growth. The FCA could be a distraction but is being managed by a committee within the co, so should not distract from operations. The II's have bought into RCN in the last few months, so I assume they take the same long term view. As to margins being unexciting, I see that as a good thing. I.e. we are not investing in a wild west scenario with desperate competition. Steady as we go.

This doesn't appear to tell us anything we don't already know from previous updates. I.e. encouraging underlying business marred by one off charges. However, no dividend and still no comment on FCA review. This one is turning into a long haul.

Certainly good news. RCN already hold public sector contracts, the sector most affected by recent events, and cyber security should now be higher up the agendas of BOD's across all sectors.

Mr BBD. The FCA can, I believe, take their own time. So I assume we will need to wait for their response before we see any real improvement. IMO a good set of results in isolation will not be enough.

GFD. I agree with your general view. My limit order from last week kicked in this morning and I picked up more on the drop. I do hope this one comes out smelling of roses.

MrBBD. Thankyou for the link. The numbers for major holders there are more recent than the RCN website itself. Curious RCN did not run their own interpretatuon on the FCA announcement. Should they have put out a news item alongside the RNS? A more mature co may have done so. Did I miss something,?

Interesting timing for this announcement. Just in time for a "pre results" review of this years problems. It will be good for those holding RCN for the medium term if this is completed in the next 6 weeks.

Opening price has a near 3pc spread this morning. Anyone know if it has been the wide in the past?

RNS Turned out to be a spreadbet. Maybe the II's are not so sure in the build up to the results?

5.9m showing as a sale. Co-incidentally a similar volume to the recent GS holding. But would they sell at 87.5p? We'll need to see if an RNS appears today or tomorrow. Is the price easing up today?

and the price went down by a penny a share for the rest of us in that time. Like I said it's opaque, but if GS and Coltrane think the shares are worth 90 is pence at the moment I am not going to argue.

Todays RNS shows GS have reduced their holding below 3%. By my calculation they must have sold circa 700k shares to do that, but the RNS does not give their exact holding so it could be more. So far there is no corresponding purchase from another buyer. If the shares were sold on the open market in this volume surely we would have seen a drop in price today? I feel that this is getting a bit too opaque for me.

GDF. I agree with all you have said. At these prices I am in profit, having bought most of my holding 4-6 weeks back, so in no rush to sell. and Yes - It does seem odd that we are not hearing more from the company given their results for 16_17 are due soon and they have II's all over their shares for the past few weeks. Perhaps its a case of once bitten.....

Wenlock, With the best will in the world the government will struggle to pull services back in-house. The in-house skills probably do not exist and civil servants are not usually quick to volunteer. You have a good theory, but IMO not likely to happen in this generation.

.....and today another 2m shares changed hands with no noticable impact on the SP. In fact it seems to be tweaking down. Is this the time to buy more?
