RE: FOR THE RECORD15 Apr 2018 12:33
bjlabuk - Your point 2 - I do not believe I took a great exception to you - my comment 8th April was in my mind some of your previous posts were directed at some people in an unfair way and it came across as you were sniping people for no real reason. Hence my post.
Back in the day of BMRW you will recall I put out my contact details for all those who wished to were able to contact me. I still occasionally receive emails from members - I rang the office at the time and helped arrange the meeting with AB at which a couple of the regular posters too the time out to attend. It is not about having an inflated opinion of oneself, merely the right to take a good interest into one's own investment.
These people continue to post and having taken the steps to meet with the CEO and have an open dialogue with them I think they are entitled to post about issues which differ from what was suggested by the company at that meeting and subsequent contacts. We the shareholders are entitled to question the company when promises are broken and I would encourage people to pick up the phone or drop them an email.
The issue of contact however, is that Piccadilly is merely a shared office complex and is not staffed by BMR so messages are perhaps not always passed on, certainly not in live time. It is our money that has kept the company going for all these years so there is an entitlement to be able to converse with the company.
I think one of the latest issues here is that we have had an antagonist posting who has deliberately used his/her skills to stir up a whole lot of issues and create an unrest. The posts have in the main been deliberately aimed to undermine the genuine beliefs of long and short term holders. The poster has been called out a number of times, yet is skilful enough to alter course with the comments to keep up the animosity. As you rightly say the filter button is there and certainly for me it has made my reading of the board a more pleasant interaction with technology.
As for the racism - perhaps the poster deliberately used the slang expression which stirred up that little hornet's nest.
I for one saw that comment and I was uneasy with it - HOWEVER - I thought - it may be a genuine expression. I do not know the poster, never met/seen a photo so let it go.
When that poster was called out about the use of such an expression there was a deliberate (to me) attempt to skirt around it and create an issue.
Again I do not know the poster and as many calls of racism abounded I posted the information, albeit an Australian version, to ensure people knew their responsibilities.
bjlabuk - do you know p26's credentials? He/she to me is merely an anonymous poster who could tell someone he was the king/queen of a small island off the coast of the outer Hebrides and we would not know whether he/she was.
As you rightly suggest of course - the use of the filter button is available.
