Not much by way f trades today. The sells are small and not a percentage point of shares in issue. The jungle drums may have stopped for a bit of a break.

No one knows which way the wind will blow today. I just wish the company would hurry up and put everyone out of their misery.

The wording "exclusive nature of negotiations" means in my eyes they (the Major) no longer deem they require to keep everyone else out of the equation. Why they do that is open for interpretation.

The last sentence in that paragraph within the RNS is

"No further amounts will be due or payable given the exclusivity will not be extended."

So whilst exclusivity gained BPC the $250,000 per month the major decides not to keep the exclusivity.

We can argue until we are blue in the face - both sides of the argument each have their own merits but it is for the individual to decide upon which is correct. The wording of the RNS for me was quite plain, though having heard the other side I can see why there is still ambiguity.

There has never been a statement made by the company or anyone outside these boards (barring fat Malcy) to the contrary. Whilst there is room for interpretation I would suggest had the company 'walked' we would know for definite.

Further in that same RNS is a closing line "No further amounts will be due or payable given the exclusivity will not be extended."

Which reiterates that 'exclusivity only' was the issue rather than they having walked.

We have been around this route many times with speculation that the major walked. I just wanted to ensure people were reminded of the actual state of play as notified by BPC.

Just to clarify my way of thinking - and in particular my thought process of boom and bust.

If, as I believe, the possibilities of wealth creation are eye wateringly good. BOOM

If, on the other hand - the seismic and results of the Moyes report are wrong. BUST

Well certainly this will be the case of my finances.

There are no guarantees with this share so in effect it is "boom or bust", whilst my personal thoughts are we are certainly keeping the lights on.

Until we know what lies under the drill tip there is no knowing. Seismics suggest positive as does the independent report coupled with good oil finds nearby.

The SP seems to be recovering after the drop this morning, minus 7.4% as I type.

Not in any stretch of the imagination a huge number of trades though a dust in the wind means of seeing where sentiment is today.

Fact versus theory and attacking the post is the key to an interesting bulletin board.

Those speculators with thoughts that the price would go down were correct today. After no news it was perhaps inevitable that those seeking 20 to 40% returns on trading would jump out.

Buys vs sells today? The buys have it currently as per ADVFN - couple of 500,000 buys seem to have tipped the scales.

Whilst most people will have an opinion - that is all it is. We can research the hell out of this and to be honest the research appears to suggest that the licence areas are awash with oil. But that is all it is presently research or a theory. Until that drill tip enters the surface under the sea we can argue with each other until we are blue in the face.

Personal insults are not really helpful from either team - glass half full vs glass half empty.

Attack the posts but not the poster is the usual etiquette - few know each other on here so lets keep it civil.

Scully - I would have expected you would have appreciated their lack of input. Sounds like you are missing them.
My own thoughts are that I am happy they are currently absent as the board is more appealing.

Time will tell which side of the argument will win out. To suggest a price tomorrow on account of no RNS is merely an active imagination and someone will end up with egg on their faces.

We know there are good seismic findings, we know there is a hunger for revenue in the Bahamas.

We just do not know when or even whether it will come off. My thoughts are that it will but I am not going to second guess who the eventual partner(s) is/are.

Think I will leave it for the experts.

The spread has creeped back up to double figures which will skew the price.

In 8 years plus I have seen a couple of exciting days. I even recall a "mahoosive" jump one morning in early May.

Long may this continue, though sitting cautiously awaiting some news.

I would agree it was someone's entry point, however that is still a good chunk of money to throw into a share where a number of posters have said it would drop to under a penny. That buy has, in part, lifted the price out of the danger zone. I doubt that investor would be thinking that it could drop so quickly.

I am sure we will learn more over the rest of the week.

We have had some big pump and dump on here along with some major re deramp. Remember that shares can go down as well as up and do not throw money in that you cannot afford to lose.

Let us see how the day progresses and discover the figures people are prepared to throw at this today. A good rise this morning thus far but as we know paper profit can disappear in a flash.

I have faith that the company will sort out a deal. I have been here a long time and have been very patient even with some extremely testing times.

Let us see if we can keep the board civil - remember to attack the post and not the poster.

Lost a lot more than that due to my not selling at the recent highs - though I console myself with it was merely a 'paper loss', as it make me not want to cry or drink a full bottle of scotch.

I am just pleased my daughter and son in law decided not to throw a load of money at it when it hit 5p.

Dizzy - was more tongue in cheek to be honest. When we have had rises in the past they have sometimes had an RNS to clarify when there was nothing of note to justify the rise, unlike the radio silence when we fall.

We even had RNS suggesting the market is aware of everything.

Time will of course tell, one way or another.

If not then it would be nice to see the rise consolidated with a further rise. I am not holding my breath of course.

No predictions from me. Let us just wait and see what it was all about. It is a one off rise after a series of drops towards that penny predicted by many - that prediction still holds water for some.
