So what you are saying is that a placing can be set up in days rather than weeks?

That means my two weeks making the discount from 1.9p to the issue price of 1.6p was not discount enough.

So if days are considered then a good 50% plus being the discount. Well played whoever bought them.

Specialist - this is why I am asking to the usual length of time to sort out a placing of shares.

My thoughts were - time to get to some sort of agreement i.e. what is the customer willing to pay?

Legal framework - should be straightforward with two agreeable partners but I would say at least a week, Nomad and solicitors.

Notifying the platform LSE/NEX that a deal is imminent.

Knowing the deal was done on an experienced market such as the LSE should mean no burdonsome bureaucracy - but I cannot help guessing a couple of weeks should sort things - That couple of weeks would have given us 1.9 maximum so a discount at the time a deal being struck.

SP drop earlier in the week due to the leak of a placing was 4th March.

Could it be the AG knew who was taking the placing rather than the potential suitor and had his wires completely crossed.

not sure if anyone on here knows how long the timescale is for such a placing event takes to organise.

I would expect a few weeks of legal wranglings once the issue price was agreed.

We were around a penny to a penny and a half for such a long time prior to the orchestrated slip up moments by ministers.

If this placing was agreed a month ago the then SP would have been less than 1.6p so the buy in price the placees obtained was at a small premium.

I know zilch about the timescales so if there is some knowledge that could assist I would be grateful to ascertain if the 1.6p agreed price was a bargain or at a premium when arranged.

I cannot see why the AG and DPM would make such glaring errors if they were indeed errors.

Glaring absence of trades - 5 on NEX and 4 on LSE. Perhaps people have had a long weekend lie in.

There has not been any official word from the company - there was some minor discussion with the company post the AG comment - the company said they had not signed a commercial agreement.

The EIA is not a requirement to sign an agreement, though it has been submitted and will be adjusted as necessary throughout the life of the drilling process.

The company is tight lipped and it does seem nobody outside the important circle of knowledge - this does show in the fairly average amount of trades. Once we see 10s of millions of individual trades we should get a bit excited or the level of trades hits the hundred millions per day.

In the meantime anything could happen - good or evil - I would hope things get settled sooner or later but in the meantime I am keeping my feet on the floor.

I think I will go and have a thought shower. To be honest this share has been more than on my radar for some time and I do believe it will do more than wash its face. You must start to think outside the box as at close of play things may look different. Perhaps once the party is over we could touch base and perhaps by then we will be singing from the same hymn sheet. I am not going to punch a puppy but tend to peel the onion.

The EIA is not an obstacle to signing off a farm in. This has been stated by the company - the EIA is a live document which will stay live and have amendments made, to ensure environmental measures/issues are adhered to. throughout the life of the drilling activities.

though the volumes are not crying out anything particularly exciting. When those figures get to 70 to 100 million per day then it will be game on.

As for EIA - as has been stated several times here - the EIA is not going to prevent a deal being signed. In fact post deal being signed the EIA remains a living document and will ensure the impact upon the local environment will be minimal.

Deal does need to be signed and we need some good news from the company to confirm all is well.

It is extremely appealing though having had some of the main politicians of the country making the claims they have. Couple that with an increase in televised debate about the benefits to the country of oil exploration appears to marginalise those who do not want oil exploration for environmental reasons.

I am sure there is still a lot of doubt especially after the events last year BUT one takes a chance every now and again.

The good ship BPC seems to have no leaks so all folk can do is guess.

Give this a couple of weeks and we should know one way or another.

As for spike - he/she has been here for anumber of years - sometimes positive and sometimes negative and even a bit in between.

Whilst there is still a lot of guesswork going on there will be disagreements as to which way BPC will go.

I believe he just sorts out the meat from the various boards - yes he will have some inside track information that us plebs do not but he will not know a great deal more than what is already posted on here.

If he does know something he would not divulge too much until he gets his own money firmly placed anyway, in order he gets a big slice of profits ahead of anyone else.

If you keep searching the web, you will find the snippets that others post on the boards before they are.

So we have sentiment to say the major walked and some saying perhaps the AG was referring to that company when he 'mis-spoke' the other day.

Then we have the red dot - sadly for price monitoring lol.

Too many video clips from Bahamian television on the go to suggest we are guessing - too many dots being joined up to suggest anything other than a new era of speculation has begun.

As stated the deal needs to be signed before this does take off but in the meantime we have tv roving reporters asking the public in the Bahamas what they think of the facts BPC will be drilling - and most of those were positive with the usual concerns. Majority think it will boost their falling economy.
