Not sure what to make of this Avaya. I have made money from UTW in the past, but now have a small stake seemingly on the slide. I am staying in for now as we have all seen this before. UTW has blown hot and cold over the years, but there are some big names invested here and I am chancing that they know something about investing long-term. I am hoping that July will bring some good news and the sp will rise.

I am shocked at the speed at which this once great share has fallen. Not sure I fully understand why. But being a buy and hold type of investor, I am hoping this will level out around the 100p mark and then rise again over the year. Or do I cash in for a reasonable profit and look elsewhere?

Surely as loss is only a loss when you sell out? You are either going to spend the money or wait for the share to fall some more and buy back in, incurring two sets of costs. Why not just leave it alone, come back in a couple of months and cash in for a healthy profit when it has reached 90p?

I know what you mean Jsimbo. I am in at 173p and all my instinct said to sell out at 193p and walk away with a small profit, but sentiment kicked in as I have made money on this share over the last few years. I think it is just one of those picks that has yet to find its place in the market, in terms of its finances and the trust that investors may or may not have in it. By March it could be 250p or back to 120p!!! I am banking on 205-210p...but who knows???

I am hanging around here too, at least until the spring. I can't see it going much lower than 140p. I had thought about doubling up to lower the average to 170p, but had my fingers burned with Globo, so I am reluctant to part put any more cash in here. Likely scenario is that I sell in March for a small loss, during which time my other shares will have risen and after which UTW will skyrocket!!!! This really has become a divisive share in which to be invested. Woodford is no fool and is obviously invested here long term.

Me too Steveymoz...I was off loading GBO, but placed too much trust in the opinion of 'experts', so started to buy back in. Feel really stupid now, as all the signs were there. I managed to go against every rule I apply to a stock. Still, like you my losses are not life changing and i will know better in the future. Really feel for those IIs who were heavily invested. Time to move on. Good luck.
