From what I could glean from my biochemist brother, the RNA delivery strand is highly unstable and doesn't last long after injection but still is able to deliver it's message before being broken down by the body. Your scenario would mean it's unable to deliver the message at all and is therefore ineffective. Still has to go through the body's cleansing system though to finally be ejected as pee or poo. The ultimate in heroic failure.

I asked one of my brothers this question last week, mainly regarding the Hippocratic Oath ethics during a Trial and the placebo group. He's a biochemist and worked for Oxford Uni, Boston Uni and Pfizer [all in Reasearch]. He said if the results started to show overwhelming signs that the medication was effective then the placebo half would also be offered it. He didn't mention if the trial would then be halted.

Thanks for that info Joey as I was worried that the scientists might use their human guinea pigs to the extremes of possibly causing organ deterioration for maximum data. At some point in the trials, doctors should take over from the boffins to ensure that Hippocratic rules are followed thereafter. I can cope with minimum placebos for a point to be made but beyond that it becomes inhumane. Can of worms, I know.

I've been wondering if the 1 syringe and 2 syringe doses were to find an answer to that question. Would just one work when the only symptom was a runny nose? You'll never stop hypochondriacs from showing up for treatment.
