I think that in time the unfounded paranoia over the use of nuclear power will subside. The statistics and research are there for all to see, if people want to. It may take quite some time, probably a nationally self-inflicted energy crisis, to reinforce this point. It would take a very narrow minded view to suggest that all is fine with the future of energy generation; no oil, no gas, no coal, no nuclear..? There has been no coherent or realistic alternative energy policy put forward..or have I missed something?

It certainly looks like a shrewd piece of business for YCA to place at this moment when U prices have taken a fairly sudden dip. Dilution to buy further stock is the short term business plan. If you believe in the bull case for uranium this share will be a useful tracker to the prevailing price. The caveat to ownership to me, having bought and sold for a very modest profit in the last few months, is the costs incurred by the company. There is a commission charge that is siphoned off to a related company plus storage charges for the bought stock. We'll not see a quantifiable figure until the accounts are published. The question may be that is this a better option than a simple tracker fund such as GCL?

"Berkeley Energia has appealed to Spain's Supreme Court against the nomination of new members to the country's nuclear safety council (CSN), which is due to assess the Australian company's uranium mine project near Salamanca. The court, in a document released on Thursday, said it had rejected a request from Berkeley to urgently suspend a government decree last week which named four new members to the CSN's five-strong board, which rules on the safety of nuclear and radioactive facilities. The proposed new members include an ecological activist, who has campaigned against Berkeley's mine project. The court gave the government 10 days to offer its side of the story before deciding how to proceed. Once the court receives the government's response to the appeal, it must decide whether to suspend the nominations. The PSOE have certainly been busy filling all these positions haven't they. It's somewhat ironic that they are passed by "royal decree" from their point of view! Doesn't change the fact that there is an appeal to the Supreme Court. As stated the appointments are being appealed to the Supreme Court. It's misleading and wrong to give the impression that these positions have been finalised. If the appeal fails well done to you, but how badly would this reflect on Spain? Overseas investors would see that a political system which allows totally inappropriate appointments to important public bodies (eg Castejon) would be an unacceptable political threat. I wonder if your fellow villagers in Villavieja and those in Retortillo thank you for denying them the opportunity of earning a good living for themselves an their families? Or is keeping the patio of your second home free from nasty dust more important?

@WhaGwaan, I really don't get what you're trying to put across. I've had a look at your posts and every single one of them seems to be a negative snipe on a variety of AIM shares. If you have an interesting back story in investing, please share with us.

It would be good to hear that the foundations have been laid with regard to the Honduras venture. Whilst we should not expect spectacular financial results so early in the evolution of this project, it would be reassuring to see some projections of future revenues. Any news on expansion of the model to Thailand or Africa would be a real bonus at this stage. The Dubai trading license seems to be an underestimated feather in the cap of WSBN, so I would be hoping that the presentation will explain how best use is planned to be made of this going forward. Some financial flesh-on-the-bones forward looking statements would be most welcome.

The large sales in recent weeks have probably been caused by Jane Street Group and Millennium International Management taking short positions in HGM. The disclosed short positions have been given at 2.08% of the company's stock.

I'm not sure if their rationale is company specific or they just don't buy into the gold bull case. I note that Jane Street have significant short positions in Petropavlovsk and Centamin as well. Encouragingly for holders, this hasn't impacted on the share price here judging by continued rises in the lat week.

Over 27,000,000 of warrants were disposed of yesterday alone. It's not going to take another six months. RP is due to make a presentation at the Investor Show on 31st March, so I would expect that he will have issued some figures and projections to make the WSBN case by then. Using the Align figures, output from Honduras is estimated at 2kg of gold per day. This equates to c.1000oz per month. That's revenue of £12m pa and a GP of around £1.8m. We'll see how close the actuals are to this, but anywhere near will see our £3m MCAP left well behind.

Agreed, EyeGuy, there's large potential to significantly increase MCAP going forward. There's the impression of better PR/ IR being developed at the moment as well. Some example replies from twitter for those who haven't seen them:

Agreed Paul, I would think that's it's a matter of time before the permits are granted, though this may take quite a while.

If there are issues with the CSN, mining permits could be applied for the other mineralisations mentioned in the Half Year Report, if BKY do not already hold these permissions, which would circumvent the need for Radioactive Authorizations. There are other mines in Spain, eg Ormonde and Atalaya, which have received all necessary permits and are in full production.
