The well will be located close to the Dalton Highway but per the land use permit will be drilled off an ice pad and ~500' ice road, it would not be usual for DNR to agree to a gravel pad & road for an exploration well.

If we are drilling in Q1 I would not be surprised if we are not already on the tundra prepacking in preparation, provided local conditions allow.
Permit approval03/01/2023 is for Land Use.
Notification for well permit when it comes will be through AOGCC.

It has been posted before but in my opinion its a very good link that all non oilers here should read and understand, although we can not know all the details of condensate & NGL being produced it certainly helped "steady my ship", seems too many just took the negatives from the RNS.

I am reading that TAP is accepting all oil, condensate & NGL but that is a personal opinion.
Unfortunately RNS's invariably leave room for interpretation.

Different products and I believe the 150B* per 1000' modelled target figure is for oil only.
*The company has stated on a number of occasions that commerciality could be achieved on a lower figure than above.
However condensates and NGL do have a value so it does not need to be just about oil.

Suppose so much of it depends on what the company deems and has stated to be the purpose of the flow test , in this case to prove commerciality at Alkaid-2.
They may reasonably decide that interim (blow by blow) reports during the actual flow test are undesirable and may lead to a disorderly market, just imagine the effect of a reported high early flow rated followed by a higher than expected decline!
I think that Jay has primed the market in recent RNS's.
AIM Rule11 States that companies may delay release of information in respect of "impending developments" which I feel Alkaid-2 would be considered as.

Alaska looks fairly normal for this time of year, yes seasons have generally shortened but this years this years opening of Western Coastal opening 16/12 compares to 2003's 17/01.

Although the majority of the NS is "closed" that does not mean that DNR will not issue permits for activities subject to local conditions and vehicle types.
Last year PANR advised 06/01/2022 that the ice road for Talitha A was completed before the even the coastal area "opening".
