The well completion report for Icewine#1 mentioned the possibility of local faulting as the top of the HRZ was some 400' deeper than expected so could our saviour be quite close, again no idea.
Doubt Dave even if he has an idea will tell us.

so Jof is it "news" (anticipated or actual) or "consensus of opinion" that is the real SP driver.

in general with 88E I think it is news, however I can remember late 2017 the SP moving on no apparent news (from a low) and of course unexpected trades or even arrival of a "guru" can impact.

HRZ Indicative Go forward (from last presentation)
Take pressure cores coincident with conventional drilling locations •
Drill and test horizontal producers, first along the highway corridor (spec 3D seismic available) •
Radiate development away from highway industrial corridor.

Like everything I suspect it's open to change, particularly if a FO partner involved who might have their own ideas.

Remember Icewine#2V was located based on the results from Icewine#1, the jv also utilised consultants and spoke to eminent experts such as Kenneth Peters before making that decision, lots of brains involved but ultimately lacking all the data. We now have a lot more data and experience.
If the company after due consultation armed with all the "knowns" we now have chose to drill either a new vertical or horizontal from FB then I would be in a poor position to argue.
However from what I can see the forthcoming conventional drills will TD in the HRZ to enable pressure cores to be taken, these cores will be sealed and replete with HC both gas & liquid, I suspect that there will be more research to be done before another shale oil attempt.
Of course I may be completely wrong :-))

Lti it's the strength of hand DW has to deal and the desire of the preferred party that will be paramount, a deal that may be accepted as a good deal by industry, may not be accepted as same by many shareholders or the market.
We will have to wait and see.

Phron whether conventional or unconventional field work will be dictated by the winter drilling season, Icewine 1 & 2 have been drilled off an existing gravel pad, Pantheon although only flow testing Alkaid had to abide to tundra travel rules.
DW has intimated some of the exploration work for the HRZ will be by taking pressure cores at conventional drills, this would I expect involve TD at a greater depth than a standard conventional well would be drilled to, we will have to see where this plan goes.

The busiest of 88 Energy Alaska Inc.’s subsidiaries during the North Slope’s winter off-road drilling season of 2018-19 was Captivate Energy Alaska Inc. with the drilling of the Winx 1 exploration well.

The focus in the coming year, spring 2019 through spring 2020, will likely be a different 88 Energy Alaska subsidiary, Accumulate Energy Alaska Inc.

But there will be work behind the scenes at Captivate and another subsidiary, Regenerate Alaska Inc.

Accumulate is looking to drill two wells for conventional oil with a new farm-in partner at Project Icewine and is looking for a farm-in partner for a work program for Icewine’s unconventional HRZ source rock resources.
