12:22 although shares in AIM & ASX (Chi-X) all share the same ISIN Number AU00000088E2, I have always wondered how a p.i. would be able to deal in the SH with shares held in London and vice versa, but have an open mind.
ASX has a lot of educational literature as to how the market works, the matched market is in reality a simple concept once you stop thinking about AIM and market makers :-))

thanks JJ, think if we can accept that direct volume comparisons between AIM & ASX+ Chi-X are difficult because of the way the markets work then that that is fine :-)
Personally I am unsure if one market actually leads the other and do not really care, we are all in this pot together.

just think of it the shareholder sells to the buyer thro. a broker, that is a trade.

unlike AIM the shareholder has not sold to a middle man(reported as a sell) and then the middleman has sold to a Buyer (reported as a buy).

As the matched trades occur they would be reported , brokers must take a commission/fee on each trade.
The seller just offers an amount of shares at a price, whether they can be sold piece meal is probably a matter of choice as each separate sale would I imagine incur a fee.
In the UK MMs provide liquidity to the market, in ASX that is not the case.

it is just a seller is prepared to sell at 2.5c so a "lucky" buyer is found at 2.5c , do not think that size of trades need to match just the price, the seller will state the price he wants and how many he wants to sell, the broker will find buyers(s).
"These buy and sell orders are matched with each other. Orders are generally matched according to price and in the same sequence they were entered into the platform. "
Because of the way we work in AIM it is not an easy concept to grasp :-)

my understanding is that although you deal via broker the broker does not buy/sell shares as the MMs in AIM will.

Shaa you need to factor in the wholesale nature of AIM, the MM gets between the buyer and the seller so we see "buys" by the MM reported and then "sells" by the MM reported, so for example 1M trades between two investors will effectively get reported as a sell of 1M and then a buy of 1M thus a total of 2M reported.
ASX & Chi-X simply report the trade once.
That is my understanding.

Pleased to see that almost all posters have recognised that today's RNS was primarily relating to Q4 19 with some positive forward looking news, do wonder if Jade's drill deferral had more to it than just a shallow harbour that needed dredging, but guess we will never know.

most important factor to me is that one market or the other (normally ASX) gets the drop on the other, in AIM we can see the announcement in ASX but we can't act on them until hours later, differing rules on trading halts also can have a major impact.
It is what it is, all we can do is be aware and plan as best as we can.
Can we trade shares held in UK market in ASX/Chi-X? or are those trading in both hemispheres splitting their investments?

rodrod never worried about the calibre of the people but always worried about mother nature, fortunately this year she appears to be playing ball, last year the foothills never reached the criteria for full opening, this year ground is frozen deep already and hopefully we will get a decent season.
Ice road and pad building will go exactly to plan (looks like) and spud will be timely.
But I take nothing for granted :-)
NB Ice road building is permitted before general tundra opening subject to conditions , if undertaken correctly it will extend the drilling season and ensure flow testing happens.

Not all drills are equal, bit like key hole surgery, the external hole may be similar in size but not all operations are the same.

1) its not an unconventional science well drilled from a convenient spot (gravel pad) and based on historic 2D data.
2) Its not a conventional well, location calculated by OEL using 3D but utilising old style analysis (stoltes migration) and with no local well data to support decisions.
3)Charlie-1 is an appraisal of an existing discovery, with modern 3D commissioned by ourselves and utilising seismic inversion analysis, importantly PMO will have effectively double checked and confirmed that analysis.
Erik Opstad is vastly experienced and we have experience of NC3 Rig and probably have worked with a lot of the crew that will be operating the rig.

But ultimately what will be will be :-) stay appy.

why it's good to talk rather than joust, increases our understanding of how 88E and the market works.

all monitoring stations on foothills show ground is sufficiently frozen, snow cover 6.5" against 9", so expect full opening of foothills shortly. Will not impact our ice road construction but does indicate generally favourable conditions.

the annual report 2019 page 75-6 details the breakdown of share ownership at that date, my view is that will still be basically valid in terms of shareholder numbers even if number of shares has increased.

we don't need to think, the annual statement gives figures admitted 12m old and at 6.3B shares but be surprised if not 95% correct in terms of number of investors.
