HRZ is source rock and potential for oil in place is huge, however so are the potential costs in making it work at commercially viable cost per barrel, hence conventional targets are probably also necessary and potential is still there to succeed with those.
If you look at Paul's original conditions for success and last operational report, we are perhaps in a better maturity window at Charlie-1 so I am hoping that lab report on cores extracted does give something positive, but HRZ will not be an easy nut and Paul's untimely death has not made it easier.
Remember GBP commenced as an unconventional shale outfit and changed tack in 2015 -16, but then ran out of money and struggled to get a FO / partner to even finance the flow test on Alkaid, which with the amount of 3D data they had was surprising until PANR came along and achieved results, but that is over 12m ago and PANR are still sort their own FO out to get that next well drilled, takes time and oil crash and covid-19 has not helped anyone.

16:01 not sure about the 50/50 comment, for me that is an expression that it might work, it might not!
A properly constructed COS calculation would be a % figure and would have varied over each target taking into account key parameters, certainly the presentations included caveats as to chances of success at each level.
I was not at the London Presentation but I am sure that Stephen Staley made a comment that no formal COS had actually been assigned although I am sure that PMO and indeed 88E would have internal figures as far as I am aware nothing was ever issued formally.
Ultimately I am unsure whether DW could have gone public about his (the Companies) views on bore hole position pre drill after all PMO may have been proved RIGHT but relationships would have been hurt even in the event of success, it may be that anything released to do with Charlie-1 was vetted & approved by PMO and indeed DW may have been in breach of contract if he had in any case.
Commercially I can't imagine that it would have been helpful to shareholders, in " hindsight" I can imagine the groans that would have resulted.

08:57 thanks I am no expert and certainly do not get it right all times, but long experience has told me it is best to try and understand how things work and importantly what the rules actually are, many here just simply regurgitate what they have seen elsewhere or what the "twitterati" buzz words currently are.

both buys and sell can fall the same side of mid price, rather than on either side thus confusing the buy/sell flag.

18:45 my gut feel is a buy, but when spread is tight it can be difficult to be certain and remember it is possible that both buys and sells can fall either side of mid price, as F_A_T mentioned earlier perceived wisdom is that a tight spread indicates that MMs want to encourage trading, but the MMs can massage Bid & Ask to move mid price so as to present a positive or negative picture it all gets very confusing at times :-)
We should not draw to many conclusions, unless we get exciting news, I suspect tomorrow will be more of the same.

17:32 no you have not missed anything, my reaction was that it was a "buy" partly based recent days patterns, however it is a tight spread.
