Despite the quantity of gold produced in the country every year, Cameroon is not yet officially recognized as a gold producer or exporter, according to the Bank of Central African States (Beac). Indeed, in its report on the evolution of the prices of the main commodities exported by CEMAC countries in Q3-2020, the Beac estimated that in the CEMAC region, only the Central African Republic and Gabon produce and export gold.

Yet Cameroon has licensed many mining companies that mine gold in the eastern region, alongside thousands of artisanal gold miners. This lack of recognition is probably because most of the gold produced in the country is sold through informal circuits. According to Cameroonian authorities, barely 5% of the national production is sold through formal channels.

Lots of gold, needs some pro miners in there to get the large quantities and feed some of it back into the tax system.

The news flow here is much more frequent than other miners, we know big news in Q2 and Q3 with other potential news at any time. Hopefully investor conference will get some new big players on board or atleast we will be in the radar for when the news drops. Bottomed out here for sure.

It’s all good now but 4th May said it would be done by the end of the week and only just completed. A bit disappointing turnaround on the license.

Get the unsettling feeling that Oxilio deal is dead, which is a shame because its importance was in proof of concept more than the value of the deal. New memebrs of the board will be putting out the data to their networks and we will see what comes of it. These things dont move very quickly but im hipeful for some kind of interest to be expressed.
You never kow, Oxilio may come good and we may get some monies to keep the lights on.

Just had a look at the assay RNS. It states 14 days from, when the samples are received/cleared customs.
1,754 samples hadn't yet been sent to the lab at the time so I guess the turnaround time would be longer than 14 days for the full results. There is the possibility that they RNS the first batch of 1401 samples and then the rest later, is that what we are expecting?

Thanks for the response. Senala looked interesting to me but couldn’t work out why such a large company like IAMGOLD is spending small amounts (for them) over such a long period. Now that the gold price is so high they might want to accelerate the project, either way it’s a great risk/reward for us.

What’s IAMGOLD’s plan after their earn in? Is it to link up to the existing facility or standalone facility?

Does this usually respond well to good assay results?
