Thanks Brombard…..from my perspective I believe all the risks have been mitigated when it comes to flow testing….thanks to co-pilot….but hey let’s see…GLA.
Why the Risks Are Mitigated
Reservoir connectivity: The lateral was drilled with precision into a well-characterized, continuous topset horizon. Pipeline State #1 already flowed oil from the same zone—so connectivity is proven.
Completion design: Pantheon has lined up hydraulic stimulation with experienced vendors. They’ve learned from prior wells and are tailoring the frac job to maximize reservoir contact.
Fluid mobility: The SMD-B has shown good porosity and permeability, and previous tests confirmed light oil with favorable mobility. No signs of problematic viscosity or water cut.
Pressure and drawdown: The reservoir has a thick hydrocarbon column and solid pressure support. Plus, the team’s modeling accounts for optimal drawdown to avoid formation damage.
Geomechanics: The topset sands are clean, with minimal clay content. Logging data shows stable rock properties—no red flags for fines migration or sand production.
So yes, barring an operational hiccup or an unexpected anomaly, the flow test should be a formality. But it’s still the final gate before commerciality is declared. And once that happens, it’s not just a win for Dubhe—it’s a green light for full-field development across Ahpun.
