That is all really helpful folks....................I think I'm starting to realise that its a pool of sharks out there (the MM's) and that the way to stay safe is not to knee-jerk, not to listen to some of the obvious attempts to influence but above all, use your common sense and make your own decisions.

Most of my investments are what you guys would probably consider boring (blue-chip FTSE 100 stuff) so this is really exciting for me. However, my own rule is don't invest more than you can comfortably afford to lose so I would encourage others to do the same. I've seen a couple of horror stories on these BB's over the past couple of months.

Anyway, hope I can carry on asking daft questions (and JHFH, my dummy trade just showed up!)

New here folks but I've put a substantial sum (for me!) into Hemo.

Love the research and debate, although thought the short-term speculation over the weekend was a touch optimistic (but fun!). Having said that, I've put my money where my mouth is for the medium to long term.

Perhaps some of you more experienced investors could confirm or correct me as I'm assuming the large amount of sells today is day traders selling small amounts?

I have a lovely warm feeling inside when directors and the chair put their own money in. It will be a slow and steady return to a sensible SP IMO but I'm not interested in the short-term on this one. We are social creatures of habit and this will result in a steady return to whatever the new 'normal' is. I've done really well out of Marston's over the past few years and have confidence that those days will return. Just my own opinion btw.

What causes a trade to show up as 'Unknown' rather than as a buy or sell?

Hello everyone. I'm a bb virgin as far as posting goes but I have been watching proceedings with interest for the past few weeks. I have dripped into Novacyt since £2.20 and now have a (for me) considerable investment. The last top-up was this morning at £2.50 so fingers crossed. I just wanted to thank the core members who have been an enormous help in terms of providing information and hours of research, helping me to make my mind up to invest. you know who you are.

I think I have mostly learnt who is serious and who is playing to a hidden agenda (as well as a couple I'm not sure of yet!).

Anyway, here's hoping to a nice steady share price rise in what looks to be an exciting company with huge prospects. Once again, thank you to those who are prepared to share their hard work for the benefit of all who wish to study it.

And the 'hidden agenda' people, well I'm not going to be a 'filterer' as I find some of the posts absolutely hilarious and they make my day......... :-)
