Day nice to see you in good spirits. That's the way. Have 2 friends here who are sheiding here less than 50 years have not ventured out of home since 15th march.
Was telling them to go out early morning to nearby empty village football field for exercise and walk in sun but are not ready to sadly. Just dont understand their logic. Keep telling them this will be long haul with vaccine far away. Looks like your consultation in ham may happen in August if there is no 2nd wave in what is called recovery phase. Most still will be video consults
Ken nice to see your short term punts on Fres, Glen have come. Now the difficult part of when to sell. Seeing you have not posted after 8am suggests you are possibly trying selling in the small lots :)
How easy or difficult you find sitting on cash pile and waiting for market to fall on up days.
Great on down days like yesterday if you buy in.
Me lost tiny on Nova, gained on AVCT.
Treasury blueprint to raise taxes and freeze wages to pay for £300bn coronavirus bill
The coronavirus crisis will cost the exchequer almost £300 billion this year and could require increases in income tax, a two-year public pay freeze and an end to the triple-lock on state pensions, an internal Treasury assessment has suggested.
The document sets out a proposed “policy package” of tax rises and spending cuts and forecasts Britain will have a £337 billion budget deficit this year, compared with £55 billion in the March Budget. The report suggests that tax rises and spending cuts that would raise up to £30 billion may be needed to help fund the increased level of debt.
It says that in the worst-case scenario, an “L-shaped economic decline”, the deficit will rise to £516 billion in the current financial year

Anyone considered dabbling in Ferg. 2 weeks ago said it looks good and should rise with builders back to work on both sides of the pond. No stamp duty. Had picked up at 5760 and sold yesterday before close at 5960. Missed out another 4% rise today......but lucky to pick up Novacyt with proceeds at 350 bid this morning. Did not expect it to drop that low today after recent news and rise so fast.
By the looks of it stocks in that sector looks safe as testing large scale will continue for 6 to 12 months with my holdings in Novacyt target £5 near term, Avacta £1.5 near term, Generdrive £2.5.
Treatment much needed and Synergian £1 before full results. If trials positive should hit above £2 as they have option to use it in asthma, COPD huge market worldwide. Wait and watch. Patience is game as swings are large either way.
If there is 2and wave across world (looks certain in USA as contact tracing impossible there) sectors mentioned in heading will drop.
Please read the details of that transaction. They bought a part of infectious diseases aspect outright along with transfer of 2 employees of odx then. That's it and NYCT dont have any further stake in odx.
By looks of it antibody tests are not accurate world over with 50% to 80% sensitivity. Vaccine being successful in next 1 year is sadly not going to happen to treat world population. Looks like testing, contact tracing etc only way forward. Most countries will have 2and wave this summer.
What crazy presumptions people conjure...1 share being a code to share messages in trading world.
There are inventions like telephones, mobiles, email devices also to communicate directly FYI.
Pun intended
Unless silver strengthened strongly which is FRES main production, FRES will be range bound. If there is 2and wave Gold will get sold like in first wave. Had dabbled in FRES in January of this year before I sold and moved on with small profit.
On Ken's face.......could not imagine this a month ago eh Ken. You need to play with market when you think it is going down rather than hold to stocks stubbornly. I am sure you are happy selling Glenda at about 188p if my memory is correct. Unlike the covid stocks these will not retrace by 20% or more in few days. Enough time to catch up if markets turn around. Feel worldwide a second wave is due. Earlier post of paris train jam packed is an example even though all have masks.

Sounds like Emmanuel Macron not pleased with Boris's plans for 14-day quarantine for people coming to the UK. Tells Boris in a phone call that France will introduce 'reciprocal' measures. So a day trip to Calais = 28 days in quarantine either side of the Channel
Looks like the test kit is from Primer Design as AZN and also GSK are not into diagnostics
From AZN
Alongside this new testing facility, AstraZeneca and GSK are working together to provide process optimisation support to the UK national testing centres in Milton Keynes, Alderley Park and Glasgow for COVID-19, providing expertise in automation and robotics to help the national testing system to continue to expand capacity over the coming weeks.
While diagnostic testing is not part of either company’s core business, we are moving as fast as we can to help where possible - with a focus on providing our world class scientific and technical expertise - working both with the Government’s screening programme and alongside the wider life sciences sector and specialist diagnostic companies.
Sadly this is what is the attitude of majority.....on one hand stating what a great company it is.....our company saving lives with testing yada yada......and next instance I am out at £10 , £7 and let others hold the bucket. Just in for a nice quick ride.
3 important points in this paper
1.Furthermore, SARS-CoV-2 did not significantly induce types I, II, or III interferons in ex-vivo infected human lung tissues compared with 2003 SARS-CoV.
Thus, the use of interferon beta-1b treatment to jump-start or improve the antiviral response of patients would be a logical approach. Additionally, interferon beta-1b was shown to decrease virus-induced lung fibrosis in a mouse model, which might improve outcomes of patients with COVID-19 complicated by acute respiratory distress syndrome.
2.A subsequent phase 3 trial with interferon beta-1b as a backbone treatment with a placebo control group should be considered, because subgroup comparison suggested that interferon beta-1b appears to be a key component of our combination treatment. Our absence of critically ill patients did not allow the generalisation of our findings to severe cases.
3. interferon beta-1b was safe when injected at the higher dose.
SNG001 dose is much smaller and safer and hence approved for home setting.
Strong close for DOW bodes well for FTSE Monday.
NewsCovid-19: Remdesivir is helpful but not a wonder drug, say researchers
Antiviral drug remdesivir helps patients hospitalised with covid-19 recover faster and may also reduce mortality, according to the US National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The drug—developed by US pharmaceutical company Gilead—is being tested through a randomised, controlled trial involving 1063 patients from several countries including the US, UK, and Singapore. The study began in February.
Currently, no official results have been published, however the NIH said that the independent data and safety monitoring board overseeing the trial met on 27 April to review data and shared their interim analysis with the study team.
They reported that the preliminary data suggests remdesivir was better than placebo in terms of time to recovery, the primary endpoint defined as being well enough for hospital discharge or returning to normal activity level.
The team carrying out the research in the UK expressed “cautious optimism” over the findings but stressed that other drugs would also be needed.
In its announcement, the NIH said, “Preliminary results indicate that patients who received remdesivir had a 31% faster time to recovery than those who received placebo (p<0.001). Specifically, the median time to recovery was 11 days for patients treated with remdesivir compared with 15 days for those who received placebo.
“Results also suggested a survival benefit, with a mortality rate of 8.0% for the group receiving remdesivir versus 11.6% for the placebo group (P=0.059).”
Remdesivir—which is given as an intravenous drug—has previously been tested against Ebola and two coronaviruses—Middle East respiratory syndrome and severe acute respiratory syndrome.
Speaking at a press briefing on 30 April, infectious disease consultant Brian Angus—part of the UK team—said, “As far as the results are concerned, it’s cautious optimism. There is some effect but it is not a wonder effect. We have to find out when is the best time to give this drug, who benefits more. There is still a lot of data to come out of this trial.”
The researchers added that while only 46 of the patients included in the trial were from the UK, more could have been recruited if there had not been such a limited supply of the drug.

As it is an emergency worldwide there is scope to partially review the results the first part in hospital trial data also while the home trials are going on.
If you compare Ftse100 and DJIA chart they have been trading in tandem last 6 months. Check out. From 3rd April there is a 5% higher rise for DJIA compared to FTSE and never joined....perhaps FANG stock affect.
With DOW possibly ending green and lockdown release plans on Sunday PM I reckon a good possibility that FTSE may jump to fill that gap Monday AM comparatively with sentiment improving short term with bright light at end of tunnell as per BJ.
