As a big Tullow holder for the long-term, this is a question for those who have wider oil industry experience than I. Tullow has often been touted as a takeover target. What takeover activity of note has there been over recent years? What else is going on out there that I may have missed? Or is the type of acquisition activity likely to be selective farm ins on individual projects? The likes of which we have seen recently. If I was a big oiler, why would I buy a business like Tullow when I can hand pick those opportunities I want through farm ins across many different explorers? What the opinion out there? And what are we seeing? Acquisitions or farm outs?

TLW appears to be a bit more robust and resilient recently. Have the MMs now got rid of the 5% TLW stock offloaded last month?

Can anyone explain (not guess or suggest) why TLW is now trading 40-50p below where it was 2 weeks ago? What have i missed or overlooked?

I see that a big investor recently offloaded 5% off the whole Tullow stock - hence the MMs have to make the price attractive for buyers to mop them up. That's a v significant volume when you compare that to the shorts% and has a similar effect on the SP. There will also be a hit on the sentiment as result. I hope they have not heard something prior to the 7th. But notice they still hold 5% of Tullow.

But still holding I will be (pleasantly) surprised if the SP jumps significantly on good news on Weds. We know what the price of oil is and can work out the likely impact on the books for the update. I think that has already been priced in. Compare that to a decision on a border dispute that could go either way and when it went our way the SP jumped. This is because there was no figures or calcs that could be done in advance of that. It was a binary decision on the day Hope I'm wrong and will continue to hold long term.

Having endured many many months of downs downs and downs on this share it's nice to have a few weeks of ups. Im enjoying it while it lasts. Particularly for One having had the belief to take advantage of the rights issue. Having seen it rise nicely over the last few weeks has it been due to sentiment and shorters bailing out. Or is the anticipation of Jan 10ths news already priced in? I.e it's going to have to be VERY good news to lift this share further next week?

Ok Guys. What's behind this? 1. Readjustment vs POO? 2. Shorts bailing out? 3. Leaked Jan report? 4. Takeover chatter? 5. Something else? Please share your collective wisdom.

For once a negative after hours poo movement has not affected the SP. Nice to see for once as we always seem to miss out on after hours upwards movements.
