I was bearish SOLG in the 20s and 30s and was very regularly shut down by you at the time. Unfortunately, I'm all too aware of what has happened since.

It was on the cards back then.

Shares in the bottom drawer for me now. Will give it 1 year to see if Scott can get to phase 3 and another year to get all permits and get some M&A interest going.

I urge you again to look at markets. FTSE up in the 8200s etc etc, yet you expect further improvement? What happens for you if major indexes fall 10%+ and the panic returns?

It's naturally a concern to see markets so buoyant yet the company's shares not performing, but that's me acknowledging things can move either way whereas you are only considering a move to the upside. Dangerous game.

SolGold hasn't always progressed either. We've spent enough time and money at various points going sideways. I believe that's over for now, but we need decisive comms on the TSF soon, especially in the midst of the RAG report.

PS - there's absolutely zero chance of an open pit in 18 months.

You really should provide references for claims like that.

Smick - you have to try and unattach yourself from the thought that SOLG leads the pack. It may do in terms of the deposit it sits on, but as we've seen fr our friends at RAG, there's always someone looking to pour cold water on something of value.

I'm of the mind that juniors that carry out drill campaigns and make discoveries will outperform SOLG, certainly in the absence of a bid and subsequent auction. It's just market mechanics. Investors buy the excitement not the boring studies and technical work.

This is why when people slate Scott for not 'getting out there promoting' one has to wonder what they expect as there's not much to promote right now.

How much would SOLG want to go and drill a couple of regionals? $10m? $20m? At this level it's dilution and unnecessary dilution at that...and I say that as someone who isn't happy with the decision to cut all regional exploration.

I'm speaking objectively as a holder.

What, for you is the bull case in the next 6 months?

Smick - I have to say I do.

Look at market indices right now. Look at copper and gold prices right now. Without having them to hand, Gold is 2600 up from 1800 over the last 18 months or so.

There's no guarantee that SOLG moves higher even if commodity prices do another +30%.

Falling interest rates might help bring some money back to the markets but that money will be looking for strong investment cases and it'll be looking for near term catalysts.

In reality SOLG can offer the AIPA. It can offer completion of geotech drilling and the TSF.

Aside from that it's just long term holders hoping to catch a bid.

Add - not earth shattering by any means but amidst a backdrop of shareholders either speculating that we're under a non-binding bid that is being held from the market or others simply asking "where our bid is" it's a reminder that we're not that close yet.

As much as I think Orthern overdoes the negativity at times, he/she/they are right to say this is a bottom drawer stock for 6-12.

We'd all like to think something should be going on Rich3r but we've got to take stock at times too.

BHP have bought Oz, had a dash at Anglo and partnered up with Lundin on Filo. That's a pretty unequivocal vote from them.

What does it mean? It means that SOLG seemingly aren't on their menu in 2024.

You can make similar cases for Newmont who have their hands full with M&A and both Barrick and Jiangxi who haven't shown their hand.

Tie this in with everything the company is telling us, i.e. the need to get to turnkey, the funding plan with the syndicate etc and it all points to a checkpoint at the end of next year where the final mine permit application should be in progress and the last tranche of pre construction funding will be hopefully received.

It's also worth pointing out that majors everywhere will be coming off of 2-2.5 years of much higher margin produce by this point so there's a case that we may see a peak of M&A.

If it doesn't happen again then Scott will need to get hiring some mine builders I'm afraid.

I say this with the politest intentions Rich3r, but it isn't for any of us to decide when an investment "matures".

These are company shares and if no other entity wants to buy them then the company could outlive us all.

We all have the ability to get off the train whenever we wish by pressing sell. I appreciate that doesn't feel very appealing right now but it's worth bearing in mind. Only you know your health and your own desire for holding this or any investment and you have to act accordingly.

We all want to see a nice run on the SP BBG but this simply is not it.

There's very little to "promote" right now. Just look at the muted market reaction to the company securing a staged investment of $100m and further construction finance of $650m.

Patience required whilst the sector consolidates around us.

That assumes basket pricing is trending upwards throughout the LOM and that can't be guaranteed. In fact, it should be considered unlikely.

To get anywhere near your £1.15, SOLG needs to complete phases 1 and 2 of the agreed workstreams to unlock tranches 2 and 3 of funding. It then needs to either work the Tandy open pittable ounces into the plan or it needs to find something at Blanca it can develop pronto.
