OT Hi Wessex. I.ve been to Malta once, mainly to see Caravaggio's The Beheading of John the Baptist, to protest at the appalling shooting of small migratory birds( and birds of prey like Hobbies) and to find the grave of my once mother -in- law's father who was killed during the Siege of Malta. ( he was on a boat called The Welshman for a good while). Also, everyone visited M&S in Malta too. I was actually invited for an interview with some international investment brokerage firm in Valletta but it turned out they were an almost like a boiler room operation...working out of Malta due to lax investment legislation / regs etc. It.s always been a shady place ...Russians today no doubt operate there. Maybe the Knights Templar should reclaim the place ...incidentally, there are many templars' tombstones, secret notches on church walls across Northumberland. I aint going back, although the Roman salt flats' salt might stop my night cramp. Ps Fits ...couldnt resist!

Fits ...many people have been here a long time and bonds form. I.ve always felt that you can ask anything without fear of being eaten alive especially if you genuinely have zero savvy about the question /topic you're talking about. This is a savvy board with bright people on it. Friction here is usually caused by accident, musunderstanding of the tone of a text, genuine disagreements where both(multiple) POV could be possible and perceived public ego denting. The truth wont be far away. Having a pleasant tone IS important and disagreeing pleasantly is vital. We all lose it occasionally ... I had a bad rant a while back ...one which I regret ... but multiple incidences of plain bad manners shouldnt be tolerated. I still like this board ... the characters ... and hope the community spirit (on the whole) continues GLA.
