"Startling revelations regarding Bots energy landscape have surfaced in recent report titles "Electricity Generation & Distribution Stats Brief". The report underscores a significant shift in the nation's reliance on imported electricity. Zambia is principal supplier of imports at 43 percent; SA Eskom 22percent; Moambique 12; SAPP 11; Namibia 9; Cross-Border Electricity Markets (never heard of them before) 4. Conversely, local electricity generation plummeted from 808k MWHin 4th quarter 2022 to 654k MWH 4th Qtr 2023 with downturn due to (yet again) operational challenges at Morupule B power station (this built by Chinese and has never worked properly - and likely never will). Morupule A and B accounted for 90 percent local generation, Matshelagabedi and Orapa plants 6 percent and 4 percent respectively.

What I know is - Govt/ Ministry & BPC tell all Independent Power Producers wanting to set up and sell in Botswana is they must sell at sustainable (and therefore low ) prices. This price is about one quarter to one third of the price that BPC and therefore Govt has to pay for the imported electricity - so the obvious question has always been (to me anyways) Why has BPC and Govt had the handbrake always over CBM power generation, and even solar generation.

This is the conundrum that has never ever made sense regarding Tlou and CBM and the Govt parties - why go so slowly in developing a potentially very significant source of local power?

The only answer I can come up with is that the BPC contracts to source from external countries / providers must include some element of kickback to somebody, which is paid to bank accounts outside the country. And until these arrangements are made visible etc, then everything continues broadly as is. And this, as much as anything else, is going to hamper Tlou's ability to scale up power generation to significant quantities of MWs.

And all these surveys saying Bots is great for Governance, law and order, low corruption, blah blah ...... are basically fit for the toilet.

Just for you Brad. 2 parts to this - A$2m and A$3m loans provided by the Doc dated May 2023 and November 2023; interest 10% convertible to equity at 3.5 cents. The earlier loan extended to same end date as Nov loan (so 3.5 years and 3 years respect). If flat rate interest per annum, adding that to capital = works out about 195m shares to be issued; more if interested is compounded quarterly.

BPOPF conv note US$5m extended January 2022 - 7.75% interest for 5 years. US$5m = at 1.5 fx rate = A$ 7.5m at 7.75 percent interest for 3 years (will end up longer) = another A$1.75m interest added to capital. A$ 9.25m convertible to equity at 6 cents is 155m shares to be issued. Details in note 14 of 2023 Annual Report.

Shares in issue now (after recent BPOPF money) is 1.254m plus 195m + 155m = 1.6 BILLION that we know are going to be in issue (because Tlou will NOT generate enough cash flow in next 2 years to repay the interest - is my assumption).

There will be more shares issued - to scale up Operations. Hopefully at higher price,5 cents would be reasonable guess.

Before you know it, 2 billion shares will be issued. And I was laughed at when saying it would be 1 billion in due course.

I feel I have to apologise to a few people. There was I thinking I was helping a few intelligent people understand some of the problems and complexities of Tlou. And now in recent posts I find those supposed intelligent people dont understand the importance of balance sheets or how to interpret them. And then (incredibly) I am being accused (after so many years) of not understanding the risks of start up investing, AIM, relevance of dilution and tht Tlou could FAIL.

Replacement of pozzolan into the cement and concrete supply chains has been a long slow burn. But thankfully it is picking up accelerating momentum. There is still significant quantities of fly ash available at low cost, which will only get cheaper until it is reasonably exhausted. And there are plenty of natural pozzolan deposits dotted around the mid-West and Western states - what i dont know is how Sunrise deposit stacks up in terms of size, quality and cost of transport to get to milling plants.

But maybe some here will start getting a better understanding of the considerable challenges in making any pozzolan depoist a commercial success. As opposed to simply blasting the CEO as being a hopeless negotiator (which he may well be, but not for the reasons many here ascribe to him).

This is a Project Generator company; that is how it is set up and managed.

brad - i will humour you and show you how to calculate the very difficult maths on equity issued arising from conversion. in a day or 2 when i have time. but your post concerns me on a number of other points.

you were a director of a plc yet you dont know how to read a balance sheet. perhaps this explains why you think dilution is unimportant.

With a company that has 1.2 billion or more shares in issue, why oh why do we have to listen to this constant drivel about Brad's 1 million shares that cost him the princely sum of 25,000 quid progressively invested over the last 150 years.... Wake up everybody. Tlou are about to connect to the GRID and sell electrons to Botswana Power Company. They are going to run up an ever increasing debtor balance with a Govt backed parastatal that is basically insolvent. Dont worry, after spending 15 years to develop the best looking coals in the world, the decision makers have decreed that Tlou can prove the concept by selling 2MW and hopefully 10MW, any everything thereafter will just be hunky dorey!!
