RE: ISA5 Nov 2024 23:13
Sorry Brad - you just made your last reply about Sekaname up. Complete and utter rollocks (with a b in front).
Nobody 'told' BPC or Govt anything about the tender; that is NOT how a Govt tender process works.
The tender was for 'up to 100MW of CBM fueled power generation' offered to only Tlou and CBM as they were the only 2 CBM operators in Botswana at that time. Strata-X came later (after they bought some of Sekaname licenses).
Whilst I have no way of knowing (and unlike you, I would never claim I did), i assume both of them decided what was best for them to submit their Bid for. Tlou it seems decided it was best to go small and grow; Sekaname decided to go big ie for 97MW. Both of them eventually won their tender Bids -they were both awarded Preferred Bidder status in 2019 (I think, well after the original tender fiasco - not Sekaname or Tlou fault; rather it was an incompetent bunch of bureaucrats at a combo of PPADB, BPC, Govt, and whoever else.
Sekaname were not 2 men and a dog outfit; they have or had a pretty huge campsite up near Serowe at a village called Mmashoro which had its own airstrip, tentage, temporary offices, drill rigs and other mobile kit to get vertical wells working.
Are they still in business today? I dont know the truthful answer to that question; I posted what I heard last week - that there was 2 public auctions at their camp where Botala apparently bought most of the drilling equipment. But since Sekaname has been in business since the 2000's, and now is 2024 - who knows whether that equipment is any good or otherwise. (And they are not 'my boys' for sure.)
You talk about what Tlou wanted or didnt want to commit to re a PPA. Again, you cannot possibly know this - so please stop trying to come across here as Billy Big Rollocks (with a B in front). You dont know their PPA price; what perhaps you can deduce is that after Tlou bid in the original tender for an initial 2 MW (with the intention to scale to 10 or more in time) - then they are in a complete mindset of proving the concept that their project will demonstrate success to the numpties in BPC etc, so more than likely this Proof of Concept is not going to price themselves out of the future market (which they aspire to open up ).
Lastly, there is much I understand and just as much I do not understand. I post here what I think and what I know - and call you out when I know you are wrong. Sadly there is no enough hours in my day (or the desire) to correct and educate you; and besides you never listened to anyone in your life probably, so i doubt you will start now.
