So I bought on the dip, and what happens, it went up, and then dipped further down.

Interesting how US travel seems to follow the Nasdaq rather than the Dow sentiment, which makes no sense....

Considering, on US opening, it got to $15.57, it's another major swing day.

The "Cruise" was awesome

The "Casino" was the problem.!!!.........but I ended up getting two more free suites out of it, and I have now made my Masters status again for 2024/2025 year already, so I will get another Grand Suite out of that as well.

They comp'd my spending onboard, so the wife was happy as she went shopping.

It was however a $12,000 hit, which is extremely unusual for me, but when you gamble, some times you have to take the losses.

I'm still a few thousand up over all of my cruises, which well over $250k's of free cruises out if it, so I'm not grumbling.

I also just saw, I've now got offers for Icon, which will be by far the biggest ship in the world when it comes out, and the offer is a balcony, which if I had bought that, it would be $10k worth for one week.! Not that i'm booking it, as I already have 8 between now and the end of March already booked anyway.

SP, when you think, we got to £13.50 ish after Q2. Travel has continued to be held back due to Micro-Economics / Oil / Sentiment etc. etc.

If CCL can just pay down some debt with the highest interest rates, we are going to be laughing.

The Year End is expected to be a near zero EPS, so if they can beat that, and actually make money we will be flying.

After our hours, it dropped to $15.23.

So a 24c drop.

approx. 17p ish drop coming Monday like for like.

Basically, we ended the week where we started.

OR. I Started my Post Cruise, exactly at the same point it was Pre-Cruise.!

2 1/2 weeks of down down down up up down up down down and it's basically where it was just before I left when I re-bought back in.

Don't forget, Norway is banning Cruise Ships by Dec 2025 within the Fjords, so Flam will be off limits to largest not Nett-Zero cruise ships.

I left from Amsterdam only 18 nights ago, so I know it's not banned yet.!

Well, Carnival went up but Royal did as well, when they cashed my room bill following a disastrous casino 17 night cruise.

Looks like I could have re-bought back in lower last week, but luckily looking now, I made the right choice before going away.

In summary is basically means.

Interest rates are going to stay high, and might even move higher, which means guaranteed yields will now move higher through the bond markets...... that means that there would be less incentive to "gamble" on the stock market.

It also means that the squeeze will be longer for peoples money, which is why all travel is being hit the most as it's a "nice to have".

BUT...

The US hasn't really changed, it's actually gone very slightly up, so hopefully we have hit the bottom for Carnival, and it should, in theory, slowly rise from here until results day, as September is normally a better month for stocks/shares, then we get the results, which hopefully the announce as beating expectations, with beating forward bookings, and hopefully decide to release some of the huge amount of cash they have to pay down high debt...........although, of course, they are getting probably 5%-6% interest on that cash now in the bank, which compensates for the debt interest as well.

Given that Powell gave no clear indication of which way he sees interest rates heading, Krosby pointed to the trajectory of rising U.S. Treasury yields as a key underpinning of market direction. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note

rose nearly 2 basis points at 4.253% after the chairman’s speech.

“Regardless of the reason that yields move higher, what they do is that they tighten financial conditions by themselves because the cost of capital goes up,” Krosby said.

To be sure, the Fed chair had said the central bank was prepared to raise rates further to combat inflation.

David Wagner, portfolio manager at Aptus Capital Advisors, said in a note that the speech was another blow to hopes for Federal Reserve rate cuts in the near term.

“Given the market’s expectation of 100bps worth of cuts by the end of ’24, we think that this meeting will continue to fly in the face of investors as they will have to digest higher rates for longer, which can ultimately reintroduce the right tail risk of interest rates into the market causing valuations to contract,” Wagner said. “Powell basically disabused investors that cuts are right around the corner, with ample retread on how far they still are from their price objective.”

Either the US market is going to go skywards, or it's going to big time crash after the Fed talk
