RE: Casinos on P&O - Cunard3 Oct 2023 21:17
Holo.
I honestly cannot speak for any of the Carnival brands, as I do not cruise any of them.
I only cruise with Royal Caribbean.
You play on Royal, and every $5 spent on a slot machine earns you one point, it works out approx. $25 per spin on roulette earns you one point. Other table games the points vary.
You start to get "free cruises" when you get to 1,500 points, and the cruises get better, and the cabins get better the more points you earn. example, 25,000 points, which is the top certificate on a cruise, you get a free Grand Suite, on realistically any cruise across the world for two people, and you only pay the taxes and port fees.
Additionally, there is a status program.
2,500 points = prime. You get a free inside 7 night cabin once a year, plus unlimited free drinks in the casino.
25,000 points = signature. You get a free balcony cabin once a year, free drink in casino, plus one free wifi.
100,000 Points = Masters. You get a free Grand Suite once a year, free drinks, two free Wifi's, priority access, access to speciality coastal kitchen for free, etc. etc. plus $100 OBC on every cruise you go on...
The statuses are On TOP of the certificates.
You can either "send money" to Royal, and then draw that down whilst on the ship.
or You can charge to your room whilst on the ship and gamble, and if you lose it gets charged to your credit card purely as a cruise spend (not cash). Or you can take cash.
Assuming you get a certificate, each level comes with "freeplay", so 2,000 points = $150 on your next cruise, 25,000 comes with $2,000 freeplay.
That will do for the brain dump tonight.!
but...... I haven't paid for a cruise in 13 years, I cruise 10 to 14 times a year, and usually stay in Junior Suite or Grand Suites all the time.
I have had approx. $300,000 of "free cruises", and overall, I am now, over all the cruises, $12,000 down.
