Isn't NMS calculated as something like 2 or 3% of the average daily volume over some timescale ( 3 months ) ? Anyway, it doesn't normally come into play and is the worst case scenario. There's normally someone who's happy to buy or sell multiples of the NMS

I'm afraid I know nowt about Desire, or, looking at your posts over there, much about your other holdings. Commiserations on your losses, the market's a tough place to do your learning.
Re. SiS - I recently bought back in so I'm fairly positive, but it's highly unlikely to make you rich or recover your losses from elsewhere.
You asked over on the DES board "... so can at least get some of my losses back!! so any tips on what i can do? thx invance would be very much appreciated"
I'd say :-
1. Try to wipe the losses from your mind and treat your investments as if you'd just bought them, or are thinking about buying them.
2. Be realistic. If you think some of your holdings are dogs then find better companies to invest in and sell the dogs
3. Don't try and get rich quick, chances are you'll lose more money. Lower your sights and aim for a decent annualised return and you'll have a much better chance to hitting any targets.
4. Take no notice whatsoever of share tips by geniuses on Bulletin Boards. If any of us were that good at it why would we be posting ?.Always DYOR.
5. Finally, if you keep on losing money, year after year then, unless it's a hobby which you enjoy, stick your cash under the mattress or find a really good fund manager or just buy index trackers.
