Are there really dragons down there ;-)
http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/prices-and-news/news/market-news/market-news-detail.html?announcementId=10505618 Well I didn't expect this today. :-)
Can I just quote you; 'Logic currently suggests the market will open down at around 5012 and then do something else. I'm wondering if 'they' will force it down to the 4950 fib line in the morning at open with the intention of letting it come up' Exactly what happened, that is scary. Get working on Monday predictions please. :-)
Slight edit to previous post; Finance is looking most likely Western banks and not the chinese, it may take a while longer so people in for the short term would also be moving on.
From the rns that the company have released and from all interpretation that I have read over the weekend then it comes across that the permits are just an administrative thing and not the big deal that has made people panic. I think people are just concerned incase there are any hiccups. Finance is not looking most likely Western banks and not the chinese, it may take a while longer so people in for the short term would also be moving on. Seems to be coming back. Fingers crossed. G.L.

I totally agree, I was on a high till this happened. Still haven't fully digested it and it's implecations. The rns gives the tone that it is a formality but unfortunately it came at a really bad time as people were already getting jittery re finance news. This unfortunately has changed a lot of my short term plans. A lesson never to bank on anything. I shall however make sure I have some fun at the weekend and I hope you do too.
Regarding todays news of new appointment. I note that both Dumbar Dales and Richard Linnell held those positions at Brinkley Mining. Does anyone have any history of their performance there. I shall look but just if anyone is familiar.
If it makes you feel any better I have been going from one mistake to the next the last couple of weeks. I have came to the conclusion that I can't just expect to take from the markets, every now and again they are going to want some of it back. LOL. You would not believe what happened to me on DES today.. bought at 62 sold at 74, came up with a failure after giving me a confirmed price, couldn't deal after it and had to phone and wait an age for someone to tell me the mms pulled it, they would then clear it from the system so I could then trade, sp dropped fast and I'm sitting on a loss. Unfortunately seems to be typical of me lately. Must just be having terrible bad luck.
Thanks, I'm confident of making it up elsewhere and I am still holding half. It's just that my confidence had been ebbed away here and I wanted to reduce my exposure by putting it where my confidence lay. I shall probably hold on to the rest of my LGO shares longer term as per original plan. Markets are really tough at the moment and over last 2 days I've seen the last 5 weeks profits go. I hope there is a little bit of blue out there today. G.L.
An interesting comment. I have seen a shake on this a few times just before some buying and a step up. Bue to the fact that their anticipated drilling programme is 2013 in the Bahamas then there is the possability that this has been driven down on sentiment. Not that anyone would want to see what happened in the G.O.M. anywhere but could you imagine if such a disater was to happen in the Bahamas. Such a chance could not be taken, however I do believe that hopefully with the additional safety checks etc. that by the time BPC are ready to drill then this current news will be just a distant memory. However there is a fear that stops could be continued on new drilling. This one I shall possibly remain to hold depending on direction tue/wed. Many thanks for your thoughts on them.
Fantastic news on CHL this morning, addittional 5mtpa, domestic output met and better that originally anticipated in quality. Isn't it nice when a story just gets better.
I am happy to hold and I shall be even happier if I get a chance to buy more if any opportunities like friday come around (5.5 ask). Not knowing anything of takeover rumours I am awaiting more news on contracts as posted in their trading update. This may seem strange but I have very rarely read the B/B on this share.
Well done on locking in some profits. I may do the same tomorrow. Think it's about time I snatched profits from somewhere. This was just amazing to watch today. I may even peek at KLG, although I sometimes wish I could go shopping for real things rather than shares. ;-) LOL.
Nice to have you on board here. It' been a long time since I have came across your name, if my memory serves me correct then it was the CMR thread (could be wrong but I think that was the one). Yes can currently buy at 1.4p (at least when I checked today), looks like a few buys have been ticking through, nothing massive but possibly someone accumulating a few. Can buy under the 1.5p that Firebird are happy to pay, can't be a bad thing. G.L. All
Thanks Riddler, since the announcement of the last placing and subsiquent fall in sp you have been able to buy under the ask. Although like most shares it has it's risks and as GedW has pointed out there is a 3million euro contract that the market does not seem to have given credit for, hopefully it will only be a matter of time before this contract and others are factored into the price. Some techs would be nice, for the moment I am reasonably happy holding. G.L.
My opinion for what it is worth is that this is an extremely risky share. If a j.v. is found within the next 12 months then the sp could catapult, the downside is that some worry that Firebird will take the assets and leave shareholders with little value if a j.v. can't be found. Personally only put in what you can afford to lose, it could be a multibag or bust. I picked up more at 1.25 today but have enough now and I am well aware of the risk.
With all due respect if you do check previous posts made by Wig, he did tell people to lock in profits, he talked of it being a gamble and he talked of trailing stops and said at 4.10 tuesday he was all out. Click on his name and check his posts. The sp fell shockingly quick just as it rose very quickly. I don't want to get involved in a great debate but like I say, check his posts. G.L. All
The offer of supprt from Firebird for a further 12 months in my opinion is a little saving grace. I hold this at the moment after trading several times but it is my most risky company and I feel that it was slightly derisked by this news today. 12 months saving grace to see if a partner can be found for a joint venture, no guarantee but it buys them time. I.M.O. Only
