I was hoping for more news from SEE at CES. It's been bit of a damp squib compared to previous years.
Yes we've announced Gen3, but we already knew that was coming.
I was hoping for some new collaborations or license deals.
This is what they've said.
that was a bit confusing. Wi-fi at our end was patchy and it was hard to hear Ian clearly. Nick did not mean to project 50,000 additional connections this year. Apologies for the confusion.
Customers can't say no to having DMS fitted and go elsewhere after delivery. It has to have a DMS system fitted on delivery.
Oem's might have multiple options for purchasers at order though.
Seeing Machines at x price with the option to have monitoring.
Smarteye or Cipia with no ongoing monitoring.
I would hope we have explained the benefits of monitoring to the oem's and they're actively pushing this. Maybe we're giving them a percentage of the ongoing monitoring if customers sign up. There's loads of alternatives to SEE out there. This paltry start doesn't fill me with huge confident we'll take huge market share.
Maybe we are just aiming for the 10% mooted in October, which is a shame as a year earlier they were saying we were the only game in town.
I think we've been so slow we've lost our first mover advantage.
