Road deaths have been running around 1800 a year now for about a decade having already fallen 70% from the 60s. It's actually a small number relative to death due to alcohol and smoking. The proportion of deaths attributable to speed alone probably accounts for a fraction of this. So the EU is proposing an expensive regulation costing billions to save perhaps 100 lives a year tops. On a cost benefit analysis that falls at the first hurdle. It's probable that he money could be better spent in other areas of public health and save far more lives. It's also probable that by not putting the clocks back in autumn more than a hundred lives could be saved anyway. On all levels this is ill thought out bureaucracy/regulation.

Be specific which regulations are good and bad in your eyes? We could ho round in circles. In general our economy is over regulated, some are needed other aren't. I volunteer for a number of sports club committees and have to deal with gdpr, safeguarding etc. These are small sports clubs. We have to put our electrical in landfill every 3 years thanks to pack testing being more expensive than new kit. All the committee has to be checked at a fair cost. That is bad regulation in my view and discouraging ppl volunteering. Plain stupid.
