It takes no effort at all not to sell, you just leave the certs in a box and get on with other things. My TSB money should be in my account soon so will whip it out quickly before I'm tempted to buy anything else. PTV was not one of my finest picks, bought with what was left over from the TSB placing so at least the profit from one more than covers the 99.3% loss on the other!!! Note to self: NEVER EVER buy another penny share!!
I am 100% behind Opium, I too hate shorters and think they should be put in the same boat as rapists and child abusers. The practise should be outlawed and I cannot for the life of me understand why institutions allow it to be done, yes they may make a bit of short tem profit from the loan, but do they not end up with an asset that is worth less due to the lower sp?
I always seemed to be temped to buy something when passing a Thorntons shop, but somehow aren't tempted when doing a shop for milk and bread in a supermarket. Pity they can't agree a franchise or shop-in-shop deal with someone like Clintons, it would seem to be a perfect match. I no longer have a single shop or outlet within 40-50 miles, so have to rely on one of the kids in London getting something for me on a B'day or at Xmas. ATB.
