The moral of the story is not to believe everything a broker says. They very often only have their best interests at heart. Generally the newspaper industry is in decline along with their advertising revenues, TNI are no exception. Without a takeover this will bounce along the bottom for a while, although their last set of results was slightly upbeat on a couple of issues. You may well have found the bottom on this one and may well see a rise over the coming months. Best of luck.

This is a very solid, almost boring, share with a very good dividend which they intend to grow at 8% a year. Those of us who were in here pre RI have seen a 75% increase on our 335p 'issue' shares, with the sp virtually back to where it was trading before the RI was announced. Next div of 12.9p is to be paid on 19/1. The scrip dividend reference price for the 2010/11 interim dividend is 553.1p meaning, for those that participate, we are already 27p up on the deal. Definitely one to be tucked away with the Scrip div alternative to watch it grow. GLA.

The fine is not final yet. "Ofgem will hold a 21-day consultation period on the fine to consider comments from the public. If the consultation concludes in favour of the penalty, National Grid Gas will be expected to pay the fine this financial year". And as you say £8mill is not exactly going to do much damage to a co of this size.

Agreed. ENIC, a company in which Daniel Levy Chairman of Tottenham Hotspur is interested, now holds 181,793,258 Ordinary Shares representing 86% of the company. With only 14% of the shares held by others and pi's this share will go nowhere unless Levy decides to sell.

Maybe it's a good job the brave peeps over on HMV didn't listen to me as it's staged a mini recovery since my post!!! Is it the start of an improvemnt or just a bounce?? Only time will tell. Averaging down is all very well if a share has real prospects, but in a dying co it's just throwing good money away, like any compulsive gambler continuing to lay bets, ever hopeful of the big one. Most gamblers lose, if they didn't the bookies would never make any money.
