@Restless - understood - I guess my point is that major players are willing to invest in MVR deals via direct guaranteed subscription levels and marketing efforts.

Clearly, there's a lot of money and very bright people in Singapore so they know their markets better than we can ever hope to do. They've obviously put their hands in their pockets to make this deal happen - they may well see MVR's offerings as an ideal showcase for people to move/pay for 5G - we already know MVR's delivery tech is top notch which is why I mentioned the tech-aspiration point a little while ago; tech-leaders often gain (vast) tech-followers ...

As discussed ad infinitum in the past here, there's little point speculating on numbers until you see them in black & white but in the context of smoke/fire, people in the industry(s) willing to do deals, and pay for the privilege, is kinda what you want to see re smoke ...

Fair comment @Restless but I think you have to see it as an entry point into what could be an enormous cash cow market.

Content is key, you're right and Liam Gallagher will have turned some heads recently - I'm guessing the equivalent over there would be the K-Pop giants which would likely dwarf anything yet announced over here, including Liam Gallagher ...

The salient point, however, to my mind at least is that once you've gained an entry point via the exclusive deal on high-end phones, there's nothing to stop growth via word of mouth alone to the masses on their regular/existing/cheap phones - those guys over there are every bit as tech-aspirational as we are over here, maybe even more so.

@MrH - the usuals will likely want a deal to agree to let it go, yes - see what happens ...

If you think people/kids are mobile phone crazy in the West then you'd never believe what it's like in SE/Asia, especially re music. It's their entire lives, there's an awful lot of them and they've got far more money to spend now than they did a decade or so ago ...

I was just looking over Dugbe - wow, a 43% IRR PEA (@$1,500 gold!!) is really what you want to see and, presumably at anything like $1,800 gold that's going to >50% which is very, very attractive and it's a good size at 4m oz too, no problem funding that, that's a hell of a cash cow ...

Didn't go so great at MTR unfortunately but it was always about the Copper for me - trading at a stonking $3.5/lb at the mo as I/we thought it may well do a couple of years back so the play is still on - all the better if you have gold/silver to go with it of course.

If that porphyry mineralisation is indicative then who knows here but regardless, I like good grade/shallow depth gold mines and little or no debt, even better with production well underway of course.

Africa is Africa - if you can't take the risk then don't play but I'll take many African countries over Indonesia all day long anyway.

@cheerful - porphyry copper deposits are often low grade but enormous in size, some have been running for over a century!
