There was a sustained USDJPY sell-off last time gold did it's huge rise from 2007-2011 and it's sat on a very long term downward resistance line which it's just recoiled from today.

I've been monitoring this for a while - there may be nothing to it but the DXY was down markedly today last time i looked.

Re all things inflationary, if the Dollar weakens on top of everything else then that's just going to pour fuel on the inflationary fire which will only boost the case for gold even further.

Really unusual Bullish Engulfing daily candle yesterday and an equally unusual gap-up for today.

I would still expect it to return to at least $1,799 at some point but a notable move nevertheless.

Interesting to hear Jay Powell's BS at Congress today with him identifying the middle of the year for various inflationary resets/rate rises etc as that's exactly when I expect Gold to make its real move up - almost like he's giving us/them the nod but in reverse as always obvs.

I went very long @ $39.7k - so far, so good - hoping for c$105k in time.

I highly doubt it will be as consequential as all the covid stuff.

I've valued Yanfolila at zero for months now - it's simply not relevant anymore, certainly at this price/mcap - if it brings in a few quid over the year(s) then great but if not then no sweat, Kouroussa and Dugbe at Q2 DFS are worth twice this SP/mcap on their own, even if Gold stays at $1,800.

I did have a chuckle at the guy earlier suggesting that exploration drilling costs should be added to the AISC lol - yeah, cos that's exactly how it works everywhere else :)
