Down it goes. Anyone with sense can see that a token £20k purchase won't compensate for a business which is being mismanaged to destruction. Bizarrely, relentlessly hyped by an abusive bully on here.

Your concern has been stated many times in recent years, and there appears to be little evidence to allay fears.

Opinion: As 75% of shareholder support is required to go private. I am confident of Frasers utilising their blocking stake. So what next? A substantial premium over the Frasers holding to garner consent. A 50p offer might see Frasers and the institutions saying yes. This would probably take the approval past 90%. Then comes the enforced squeeze-out of the remaining shareholders, all fully permitted under the Companies Act 2006. We should thank our stars that the Frasers holding is as large as it is, otherwise I'm sure this lot would have had the group away already at sub 15p. Absolutely disgusting what has been done to the company since 2021, and in plain sight too.

If I were a prospective buyer (assuming that it really is up for sale and it isn't just leading people on), it might be beneficial to know specifically how PLT specifically has doing given its very large impact on the overall group results, without having to make inferences.

Also, I'd be especially interested to know how much was really blasted on the glorious relaunch and how much of a turnaround has been effected since then. Just little things, you know...

All those empty boxes under "Group Performance Including Discontinued Operations (including PLT)" have really helped me to determine how PLT was performing. Operating Costs including PLT of "-" versus Operating Costs excluding PLT of -£375.5M = how much exactly? Adjusted EBIT including PLT of " " versus Adjusted EBIT excluding PLT of -£21M = how much exactly? Same for post-tax loss, inventory, capex, free cash flow and net debt.

Guide me, o' wise one.

I still don't understand how it is permitted to refuse to report the results of one of the biggest brands under the ruse that it is "up for sale".

Granted Ocean. My bugbear with it all is that exceptionals should be just that: exceptional. Year-upon-year exceptionals of the same variety cease to become exceptional, and are instead mask a repetitive pattern of irresponsible capital squandering and inventory waste. All the signs of a business being mismanaged to the point of ruin.

It's a downright deceitful statement, Hexam. Fundamentally, it is leading people to pretend that the brands have made a profit by simply ignoring all the way in which they have lost money (mainly through disturbing and phenomenally high exceptionals).

So far the opinions on the director buys are (in no order):

1. Genuine long term investment with faith in the future of the group

2. Token purchase to provide cover / deniability for an engineered insolvency / delisting etc.

3. A flip due to impending news, rumours, etc.

Any others, and which is most plausible?

£30k-£40k apiece. Small, but significant admittedly, when viewed alongside Kane's recent purchase.

Is there a message behind these purchases?

Still wondering how PLT would be worth the fantasy sums being slated on here. All infrastructure belongs to the parent group, resulting in few tangible assets. Despite £400M sales, it is loss-making as of now, and conspicuous by its absence in both the reporting and the grand "all brands are trading profitably in terms of adjusted EBITDA" statement. The brand is tainted by past scandals. It has substantial unsold inventory (£70M+), despite the write-down which occurred earlier this year. The return of the glorious leader and all the partying doesn't seem to delivered the return to profitability. So how could this be a £200-£400M sale? What does it have to offer? I'm not seeing how it could be given away.

Not sure how PLT would be worth anything when up for sale. Tarnished brand, failed turnaround, limited tangible assets, large inventory overhang. Who's going to pay top dollar for that?

My favourite is the claim that the share price and the business performance are unrelated. Never gets old.
