RE: The winner 2025 ?15 Apr 2025 15:46
Map, I’m giving you the classic investing alpha, pointing out the same errors you see in every retail chant group, and you come back with the usual “things eventually work out,” relying on hope and the comfort of the crowd in the same boat.
You’re misusing the word investor as a shield. It’s just a way to delay accountability. Your underlying message is: “It’s okay if we’re wrong short-term, because long-term we’ll be right.” No, you won’t. Being wrong for years isn’t a strategy, and repeating it to yourself doesn’t make it right. Ignoring your massive paper losses and the years or decades of time wasted here isn’t being right, it’s denial.
Confirmation bias, ego, and denial are what ruin people in the market.
Whether you’re a trader or an investor, the end goal is returns. If you’re consistently losing, you’re neither, you’re just holding risk. Calling yourself an investor just because you’re hoping to recover losses isn’t investing; it’s just denial.
I’ve said it many times, buying here is a no-brainer for a value investor, and even for certain traders. But most of here aren’t investors or traders. And there are no “day traders” here you can blame for the so-called noise.
