Hi Bond
Decisions , decisions ,decisions, do I open that bottle of St Estephe 2000, or the Romerol Rioja, or the Haute Medoc claret before I am relegated from this mortal coil via the courtsey of this new virus. I f I drink now and survive I have no back ups for the future. If I dont will my descendants appreciate the legacy I have left them. I think on reflection I owe them the respect to drink the best as that takes the pressure off them having to spend a life time to educate themselves to savour the
better vintages.
Keep safe and enjoy as best able.

Great post and hope this fantastic forum can keep up its humorous side
I have a very very rescue boxer who wants to rip the throat out of any human being it encounters outside the home so an isolated walk guaranteed.
Vino stocked , freezer full, but wife and daughter still working so have suggested
confining them to our garage. Even volunteered a radio but didn't get their approbation and they had the temerity for me to go into the garage. No sympathy for the elderly vulnerable. Might change the will.
Keep safe we need some cheer and humour on this wonderful forum for the immediate future

Hi Mr Bond
Probably purely financial, they buy a certain " bandwidth" allocation from the lONDON sTOCK EXCHANGE SETS system and in these volatile times with everybody accessing that system on this platform they freeze up when the allocation is
expended.
Not a premium member so would like to hear whether the Premium service has the same problem. Cant complain after all theis forum is a freebie.
If you want up to 15 min delay info see my previous link to The London Stock Exchange site.

Hi Tibbs
OFF BOOK can be used by Brokers to transfer shares from one to another. As I see it if Broker A has a large buy order in then he will try to obtain these from other Brokers at median price. In this way the buy order can be concealed from the market which might otherwise create difficulty in filling that buy order at the best price. Additionally Broker A may have a large short position to cover and would ask Broker B to "lend those shares to cover"
Others here may have a better way of explaining it

Hi Tibbs
You will see the following which is somewhat confusing OFF BOOK as a transaction.
Explanation herewith
Pros of off-book trades
Off-book orders are not as reliant upon the rules of an exchange or trading system. This means that they can provide a lot more freedom and flexibility for participants to choose their own prices and outline the parameters of their own trade. The counter parties can create a private agreement that suits both of their needs and goals.
Cons of off-book trades
Off-book trades can have a higher risk of counterparty default, as there are very few rules or contractual obligations.
For some off-book trades, there is no official record kept at all. The drawback of this, is that off-book trading is often used by individuals looking to conceal their behaviour from others.
The lack of official regulation can also be a cause for concern, as there is no obligation for either party to report the trade to an exchange or publicise the orders to a governing body. And even when off-book trades are reported, so that they are executed ‘on exchange’, the process can be time consuming and experience significant delays. This is because the exchange doesn’t have to record the trade immediately.

Hi Tibbs
Actually this forum board has a short position summary on shorts as a percentage and gives a picture as to the current and trending positions. Just below the icon for Share Trades which is very unreliable of late seeming to shut up shop about 3.00pm and not show any trades after that time and indeed price change. This can also be the reason why you are seeing such a large discrepancy between what is shown here at the close and the open position the following morning.
If you wish to see trades after the SETS system closes at 4.30pm then this is a link to the London Stock Exchange site which is fairly easy to configure.

Bob Beckman, famous investment adviser when asked to what did he owe his phenomenal success he replied
"I put the Financial Times on the floor and call my dog William over to pee on it.Wherever there was a mark I could do some trading. "
He might have added that an up stream was to go long and a down stream to go short.
On this basis a condition of employment of our Broker /advisers/ pundits should be that the have a dog and call it William.

Hi Tibbs
Quite complicated but have posted here before about Normal Market Share eg a Broker has no obligation to enter into the book any transaction above NMS . I use London Stock Exchange trades history which you cant get here on this platform. Its a free acess use. There you will see the large trades and under an entry of "off book"after the close of normal trading hours. Off book can be larger than NMS but equally can be between Brokers who can help each other on liquidity or shaft one another at a whim. Brutal game. Shafting is a badge of honour and applauded by those above the hoi poloi of normal trading exercise but rely on the cannon fodder to keep them in the manner they have been accustomed to. One cant influence the system but it helps to understand it. one thing is for sure the market players are in front of the normal PI viz todays cut in bank rate and the pound rises against most fiat currencies. The FX traders had already priced in that BOE action. Hope this helps but difficult on a forum post to get into the depths of the way it works.I dont trade any more just going for income as said previously but a little concerned for those who are contemplating this move. Debt free , certified balance sheet, solid divi even in a bad year , and first mover advantage ,. Where else would you want to be.
Bob
Super
Agree your thoughts but equally may indicate lack of liquidity on the bid side of the book which has been taken out by by a largish buyer. Something odd to create that spike as now fallen back but still in positive territory so far.
Bob
Crazy is right . Bank Rate just set at 0.1% and perversely the pound rising against Dollar and Euro. Lowest interest rate since 1600' when BOE formed.
My streaming portal shows Cey UP 4.6% EG 98-99P
I n my opinion CEY could go astronomic prior to divi close date. If the report out hopefully soon indicating stet or better for future divi then hold on tight guys.
All my humble opinion but money where mouth is. Tragic that all this on the back of this disgusting coronavirus creating such sadness in peoples lives.
