As I had experienced this sort of drop before I doubled down . My reasoning was that if a broker

has a large order to fill (perhaps I nstitutional) then small but strategic sells will drop the price

over a few days with consequent PIs being "shaken out of the tree" The drop to my limited knowledge was not due to a negative RNS or Company statement. The shares thus shaken out do not to my knowledge if bought to fulfill a large order have to be entered into the market as being larger than normal market size for 3 days after accumu latiion.

Be interesting to keep an eye on any RNS issued in the near future .

Happy to keep my hands warm at present . My dip into Dunhelm fro the divi hasnt paid off yet but Christmas and the New Year sales should pick it up hopefully.

Have followed Johnson Mathey for over a decade and with new management and director buying got in at the right time and especially just before ex divi on the 5th Dec with 5.6% return.

I am not a chartist but looking at the Anglo chart on the 22 Oct it stood at 31.24 but on the 5th Dec was at 25.7. That doesn't tell me that despite the Analysts rhetoric the major investors are that enamoured. Could of course be a reflection of gold on the 24/10 nudging 2800 and now at 2636 . Will continue to sit on my hands. With Trump and Starmer priming inflation interest rates in my opinion will rise and not sure good for goldies.

Just my amateur opinion and as I have neither a crystal ball or intimate market knowledge

would encourage all to do their own research and view my post for interest only.

Thanks Mr Bond Still a goldie and any company that stole Centamin must be worth following.

Have funds sidelined and looking for a good entry point here. Trumps announcement to severely add tariffs to Mexico China and Canada over Fentanyl drug manufacture and shipment into US will obviously prejudice the domestic market and boost gold holdings.

Any comments /observations as to what to look for as an entry point here much valued from wise old heads here from CEY days.

I have never been very good at sell/buy timings and indeed a certain company called Medisys is burnt into my skull After missing the 2 pound plus moment at CEY I held and held and HELD. not particularly happy with au offer but well above water as held CEY from when El Raghy had only a map on the wall. Do you remember the excitement when notification was made of a second hand rolling mill was on its way from Brazil

CEY divis were well worth the holding. and you get to know a share and its ceiling points and resistance points so traded and added to holdings over the years.

Having been burnt over the years from holding, for the first time in my life made a decent decision and from fear other than anything else sold all my CEY at 172

All holdings in S&S ISA;S.

Shot everything into Dunhelm as just about to go ex divi with payout this coming Friday.

Bl...dy hell what a boring ramble . Will keep an Eye on AU because they have done a Brahma deal for their shareholders by stealing cey on the cheap and might put a punt in here although divis are sh...te##

We have not always agreed on various matters but I have always respected the diligence you put into your posts regarding CEY.

Equally I have always appreciated the respect you have given to some of my posts even though in disagreement with some of the content.

You might well be right but looking at the RNS it states

AngloGold Ashanti has received from the Centamin Directors irrevocable undertakings to vote in favour of the Scheme and the Centamin Resolutions in respect of a total of 2,184,515 Centamin Shares in aggregate, representing 0.188 per cent. of Centamin's total issued share capital.

The directors have given their irrevocable undertaking to vote in favour of the scheme.

I t does not state that the Directors have the support of Institutional shareholders to support them in such a vote and therefore could well be contrary .

On reflection though it does seem unlikely and you are probably correct. Time will tell.

Quite agree that 1.63 is well under valuation considering the geo political situation. Fed signalling reduction in base rates, projections to add into the mix of Doropo, However I believe this has some way to run as the deal will fall or go through at the behest of the major institutional shareholders not Hogan or the board. Cant see Barrick sitting on their hands or indeed our old friends at Endeavour. Interesting times to come. Definitely sitting on my hands at this time. My personal view only guys.

What was drummed in to me at business school was not diversity ,not carbon emmissionss , climate change , the teachings of Marx or Engels nor the dangers associated with excessive drinking . smoking, or fatty foods. physocological inference and misguidance and propoganda . NO It was "nothing happens until somebody sells something" Hogan may be an excellent mining engineer , he may be an excellent financial businessman . but selling Sukari to retail or wholesale investors just aint in him . no matter whether he thinks it is or not.

There has been an undoubted movement by major players

(certainly not us minnows of minority holders) to move this SP downwards against a large swing in Gold Prtice to the up side. Others will be able to adjust the current up trend in G/P against current and forecast oz;s . Just mypersonal viewpoint . the major holders have decided that the Company is ripe for a takeover in favour of whichever Companies they have substantial holdings in. All a bit conspsdpirational . Yeah conspiracies seem over the last ferw years to have more than substantial legs . I equally would not discount the baksheesh that a mjor would have in favour with the Egyptian mining authorities. Hope I am really and totally wrong !!!!

My concern currently is that unless Centamin shout loud and ckear as to how the waste strip has progressed or progressing with the share price in the current doldrums with future AISC costs falling it would be an ideal time for a oredator to make an unsolicited bid before the market took on the better news on both counts. Lets hope not but not holding my breath.

I am still lurking here and enjoying the profound and very intelligent and concise posts of the contributors. I could not resist however Tibbs applauding your post re Horgan and sorting out the crock of s##t he was handed by his predecessors. However slightly in their favour I would say that the fledgling Egyptian mining industry rested on Cey shoulders and max profits and return to to the Egyptian Govt coffers was essential bearing in mind the Court case sitting on CEY shoulders at that time. Much backsheesh and palm greasing was needed .

Global economics now going to hell in a hand basket , USA heading for stagflation at best China facing meltdown in Real Estate and industrial output to the West, Russia (although a minor force in global economics terms but massive in visibility and influence with the BRICS) probably in default of debt come Spring Summer next year.

Silver ever the poor mans hedge but Gold for those with the available funds to back into.

Very true but you missed the point. Who can carry that debt forward. The US or China Russia et al. Who has the base to support that debt. Certainly not China or Russia . Debt is only feasonable on the ability to finance it .

With the technology industrial strength and population driven by greed and motivation for profit .If you differ you are going to hell in a basket. China overburdened by debt, Russia leached of tax funds by Oligarchs and based upon corruption at every level .Get real and face the facts Tibbs. The 2nd most boasted army in the world cannot overcome a population one third its size Busted and exposed reality. Laughable.

Very well said and is their a model system in the world that does not have its pillars supporting greed and down right fraud and irreconcilable debt. Sadly I think not. Some try to conceal the shortcomings behing fear and propoganda and others by smoke and mirrors. Couldn't agree more that Tier 1 is where true value lies.

I am led to believe that at least double digit private bank failures have occurred in Russia but concealed by absorption or acquisition by the State Banks. Wheels always turn full circle . Not sure why at my age I care any more.

So the divi may be less than wanted. Over 5-10 years which I have reaped the divi from CEY what the hell do I care for less than the normal divi for the next few years. I still have the basic share holding (albeit like all my long term holdings )at a considerable SP above purchase price. Think in 1 or 2 year term or less to get rich and be consigned to the market dustbin of the 78% who think they can get rich quick. Fallacy!!!! Hold and wait and if the divi is still giving hold for longer.
But what do I know .Do your own thing as I do and the very best of luck to you all.

Hi Tibbs Gnome on a different tack USA has had 2 banks default but depositors have been insured against losses. Can you advise how many private as distinct from State banks have failed in Russia during the same time scale I know the answer but interested in what you reveal , if anything.
