Lazypunter - This is a genuine question so please don’t take it the wrong way.

How does buying shares outside of an initial public offering, or a rights issue, give the company funds? Surely you are only giving funds to the person who is on the sell side of your buy?

I hold SNG but haven’t been following them closely so maybe the answer is in the thread.

For the names of the bidders to be known then the information must have come from the AA as opposed to the PE houses..

Wouldn’t be too surprising if the information was strategically leaked to increase competition and bids.

Secrecy in these situations usually only helps the bidders.

You need to be realistic. Companies don’t operate like 24 hours a day news channels, they shouldn’t be spending their time doing constant updates about every step they take.

GS has just updated us - everyone seemed to like the update. We can’t then get restless after a few days.

If you need instant upside then you should go down the casino and stick it all on red...

This stock needs stability, it needs to release news when it’s ready and it needs shareholders who don’t keep interrupting the management team.

Either trust them to get on with their jobs, or invest elsewhere. Please don’t take up the managements precious time, this will damage the company and the shareprice.

I’d rather he was happy to buy at a higher price, shows confidence in the future.

Maybe he only had enough liquid cash to invest and bought when he could - they may now be in a closed period for insiders.

I’ve been building a stake - had bought a handful pre-scandal and thought I’d missed the boat.

Have bought just under 200k shares now, most of which at a much lower level to the current shareprice and a fraction of what my original ones were.

Glad the management team bought in, got to be a good sign.

The problem isn’t with the updates from the board, the problem is with the deluded rampers on here that set unrealistic expectations.

If they were intelligent investors, the sp would be less volatile and probably a lot higher than it currently is.

Unfortunately they continue to put 2 + 2 together and think it equals Berkshire Hathaway.

Shame really as the proposition is strong, thankfully as the mcap grows investors such as Holiday, Hull, Bots and Giles will be less able to negatively impact the shares.

I believe ALGW will do well. I believe news will come out soon.

I also believe that this boards constant ramping is negatively impacting the chances of Alpha’s future.

Just think about it, if you were a UHNWI individual would you put £100m of your kids inheritance with a company whose mcap swings erratically due to misinformation on this and other boards?

Let the board do their job, when the update is given we can either be extremely happy that the SP is going in the right direction - or we can make a decision whether it’s worth hanging on for longer.

Giles - of course I can say that. People do use money that they can’t afford to lose, there have been multiple stories in recent times of people doing this and ending up taking their own life.

I’m confident it will at some point - Think Hull was saying it was definitely going to be out last Monday, or was it the Monday before... maybe it’s next Monday.. maybe it’ll be out in the afternoon as they are on US time... maybe Goldman/Lido/Berkshire Hathaway are just double checking the font on the new logo and we’ll have it as a nice Friday surprise...

No one knows apart from those inside the company and those that work for any partner organisations, anyone that says otherwise is deluded, misinformed or telling porkies.. no offence intended to anyone :)

I’m confident in my investment and patient as well, I just think the misinformation given and the massive ramping undertaken on this board is dangerous. People could lose money that they can’t afford to lose.

Hopefully we’ll all of course make so much money that we won’t be able to spend it..

Looked at the network on corporatewiki’s and can’t see anything overly interesting, although may be missing something.

I think news will come out soon as I have spoken to Gobind and he did say ‘first half of July’.

I’m not even going to pretend to know. It obviously wouldn’t be right for me to know and if information had been found out and the company had confirmed it, then they would have had to announce it to ensure they limited the chance of anyone falling foul of 1.3 of the market abuse regs.

Obviously quite a roller coaster today on the shareprice, everyone just needs to remember that the only news that matters is the news announced by the company.

Everything else is just conjecture from random internet peeps.

Not trying to be down on this - I’ve just seen lots of crap being discussed on here which I know to be factually incorrect and I don’t want people to lose money by thinking everyone on here is :

A) knowledgeable; and
B) playing with a straight bat.

So... I definitely wouldn’t bet against positive news soon, however, I definitely wouldn’t rely some of the messages here.

Tomorrow could be the last chance to buy in sub 3p!!! :) (one day, this message will be correct - it’s said every couple of days - hope I get a prize for being the one to correctly ‘call’ it)
