We live in world where people travelled in huge numbers far and wide. It was the norm to take anti-malaria's and this was often associated with travel to poorer countries. Going forward these same countries are likely to have reoccurring issues with covid due to their lack of access to immunisation programmes. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future people took a course of preventive tablets when travelling to areas with high risk of covid infection.

Stach i understand your reasoning and i agree it may never reach a value of £1 per share. However that doesn't necessarily mean its not possible for share holders to achieve similar return via dividends over a number of years, after all this is likely to be around for a while. If (and i appreciate its a huge if) the stars aligned for Sareum and they were successful with Tyk2 as a treatment for covid the market is huge. Gov website states: The aim is to have at least 2 effective treatments this year, either in a tablet or capsule form, that the public can take at home following a positive COVID-19 test or exposure to someone with the virus. That suggests people will be popping pills as a preventive, in which case the market size could be enormous.

Sareum can easily sub contract the manufacturing and marketing, with very little fixed overhead they would be a hugely profitable company. And those profits have to flow via dividend to the share holders. Just my take on it. :-)

Morning SOG. When you look at the billions the U.K. and US alone spent on PPE. As of April 2021 the U.K. had spent £29.5 billion on Covid. 60% of this value has been awarded for products and supplies, while 39% was dedicated to procuring services. Add on top the furlough and associated schemes and its huge. Spending a few million on funding trials that may result in finding a possible solution is a very attractive punt.

Appears there’s a lot of pressure and hype to use drugs that have no benefit.

Damion. Ref Covid update, what would be the point until the study is completed, which is circa 6-8 weeks away? It’s either a feasible option or it isn’t. Until they finish the study any update would be incomplete and possibly misleading. They stated progress so far is good, I’d rather hear that statement than “progress to date has been challenging”.

I imagine they could easily negotiate a third party manufacturing deal. Still maintain ownership of the assets and the lions share of the revenue.

Interesting choice of words "major development" its suggest that this is current news, when in fact we all know this was announced before Christmas. Sareum has been awarded a grant of approximately £174,000 by UK Research & Innovation (“UKRI”) to investigate the therapeutic potential of SDC-1801 in preclinical models of severe phase Covid-19.

Based on Parkers wording "Tested" have we moved further forward, i.e from Investigate to test????

I think we need to change tactics folk.
Next time the wombles appear rather than berate them, we all need to open our arms and welcome them. Cuddle them and make them feel warm and part of the family.
Because only good things happen when they appear, the more we see them the greater the share price. :-)
