Proposed Directors of Tirupati Graphite explain why they have requisitioned an GM. Watch the video here.
Yeah, let’s stick to using this forum to complain about how unfair it is that someone else might possibly have got themselves a better pension than us. That’s far more relevant and a lot more fun.
Said that a number of times when he was rodmitchell, dadooronron, handymandy etc. Attention seeker, hoping for big ‘please don’t go’. Amusing rants on occasions but then again it’s wrong to mock the afflicted.
Yes good to see the SP pressing o, even if the up’s and downs can generate a feeling akin to sea sickness.
£5 by xmas as little rod once infamously said (not so very long ago).
Interesting one. Ultimately when it happens they’ll be due consideration of experience and capability available in the market place compared to what Marc offers, and one would hope a recognition that he’s a talented individual that will have aspirations for a top job.
Ha Ha! Yeah, that’s absolutely hilarious.
Obviously we’re all far smarter than she is and built far more successful careers. And besides that she’s just got lucky and it’s all down to being a member of her elite old boys club and that public school tie she insists in keep showing off.
Former openreach head?? Former ofcom head! Wow that would be a classic gamekeeper turned poacher.
Think there would be lots of concern at that appointment but presumably given the roles she’s had she’s a capable talent.
Oh right…so when you say you doubt he’ll leave early, what that would mean if he did, that the article is just speculation, that results will be good and that Phil will stay you’re presumably an authority on all those things.
And what’s more you’re qualified to pass judgement on people that come on here to discuss the role of the CEO?
There are people on here that run a business or have been close enough to understand how the CEO role works, although it’s not rocket science and I would expect the key challenges are apparent to anyone that gives it some thought.
Running BT brings some specific complexities and potentially aggravation that a marketable individual may come to the conclusion means they’d rather take their talents elsewhere. As a shareholder, for me that’s an ongoing concern for BT. The company needs to be able to attract and retain the very best talent.
I would imagine he has got frustrated. and thought I’ll go somewhere where I can do my job the way I want to and it needs to be done. The BT CEO role has challenges like virtually no other UK business, as demonstrated by the negative response to his recent bullish comments.
It’s a crazy situation where on the one hand a BT policy of ‘build like crazy’ is spun as anti-competitive, and on the other when questions are raised as to the quality and speed of UK broadband it’s BT that’s put in the firing line.
I just hope the primary focus of whoever comes in is very much on improving share holder value, rather than pacifying, unions, politicians and media.
Frankly, BT as a company and and an investment, has been held back too long and too much by politics and submissive leadership.
Reference Jansen comment…but isn’t that exactly what we want him to be saying to potential investors. Problem is ofcom hears it too and of course that’s the ongoing dilemma and perpetual tight rope BT navigates because of the power the regulator is allowed to hold over them.
Why not hold forever? I agree a strategy of investing for income makes absolute sense and has delivered a far better return in recent times where low interest have been prevalent. Similarly, should the SP be suppressed in the short term and you can be confident it will recover it’s a winner.
However, my comment was in response to a mindset of ‘I will never sell and will always reinvest’. We don’t live for ever and the purpose of investing should be to create an opportunity to enrich life. Having increased value on paper may promote a feeling of greater security but for me it’s important to make the most of today, and not leave it too late to enjoy at least some of your returns.
The share price does matter. If you reinvest dividends you only get value when you eventually sell…at which point the SP is going to be everything to you.
And by the way, anything could happen tomorrow so don’t sit on them for ever.
