Brokers views are nearly always lagging indicators. One or two are good analysts who have insightful analysis. The other 99% simply adjust their prices to be within a tight range of the others, and look backwards. When shares are up they all bump them up, and vice versa. No analyst wants to be an outlier, herd mentality.

A share price fall doesn't automatically mean a dividend will be cut. It depends on the metric used to set the divi. It is highly unlikely in my view it would be cut. It's time like this that its the best opportunity to build income stock holdings. let shorts, irrational moves do your work for you in achieving a higher yield. A near 10% return at these levels is very attractive.

I've barely looked at it for the last 3 months. No point when markets are bouncing all over the place. I have my target and alerts set, when we get there I will be happy. For now I just sit back and enjoy the divi income until value is realised.

I agree BN, and whilst I get annoyed with unjustified declines It makes no impact on my trading decisions. I'm still heavily long, for the same reasons as yourself. When I get annoyed I just remember they pay me about £10k a year in dividend just to hold them, so that always relaxs me. I still have my 800 target which I see as fair value. I would have thought we would have been there by the end of this year, but looks like will have to wait until next year now.

I often think people forget Petrofac isn't an oil company. Way too much focus is put on oil, when in fact a large proportion of its business is LNG and gas, both of which are booming markets right now. The market is so short sighted it beggars belief at times. Ah well, tuck it away and earn/reinvest the dividend it is until normality returns.

This share price defies logic sometimes, down when oil drops, down when oil rises.... Easier to understand the inner working of the cosmos, than its random behavior of late. Wake me when we get taken over.

Its a classic case of irrational markets. Oil still 75-80, company fundamentals very strong and improving (as evidenced by the massive order intake this year). I picked some more up today. In my view the dividend will be increased next time around. Always buy value, particularly if the market gives you an opportunity to get it for cheap. 800p target remains for me, 900p if divi gets increased.

It's just a matter of time before PFC get bought out given its strong contract wins and portfolio and it's cheap valuation. Surprised it hasn't already been approached to be honest.

I actually missed their upgare from end of last week. 1000 price target upgrade, first one over 1000 for a while. That's a massive upside.

Hit 670 this morning. Add the divi amount (as it has already gone ex divi so this will have ben taken off of the share price already n ex divi day). This gives a days high equiv to over 680p. That's how I assess it anyway.

And there's the new high ladies and gentlemen. When you factor in the ex divi amount, this has now set a new high for the year. Finally broken through that resistance. Watch this smash through 700 now soon.

It's a big boys game, very little benefit to individual traders. In fact I imagine it could significantly increase your risk unless you were a software expert. At the end of the day you aren't going to compete with banks or hedge funds who have entire teams dedicated to writing software aimed at manipulating prices.

Well that day had all the marks of an auto algorithm trading day. I wish they'd turn those things off for a few weeks and let it rise to the level it should be at....

My view has been +$100/bbl by Q1-19 for quite some time now. It's been on the cards for a while with political uncertainty, and US meddling. I see analysts are starting to catch up with me, and its now becoming the consensus view. It's not a case of if but how soon in my view.

I didn't say he was from Iraq BN, I said he had strong ties there, as evidenced through the major contracts PFC are winning in Iraq.

Iraq is the main market for future projects given its increasing output, and also given Asfaris strong ties there. For me its actually one of the potential upwards driving forces over the next year or two. Good relations in the major growth market, points to significant project upside in my view.

They've sold their assets in the North Sea, income will be booked End Q4 / begin Q1 I believe, so its not something that should keep you up at night. Also the majority of the business comes from the Mid East and Asia as far as I can see from recent contract wins.

Yes Sharmax ex divi date is today 20-Sep. What that means is you had to own the shares at close last night to be entitled to the divided. So people will have bought or sold before the close of play last night, depending if they wanted the divi or not. A share would all things being equal fall by the dividend amount on the ex divi date, i.e. Today. It dropped first thing, but has been bought strongly since open, for reasons I believe as stated previously.
